I was recently going thru Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses for the 3rd time in 8mths.And could not understand it again. I guess i'm in the "less than 50-club" now. So guys if u can, share some experiences of interesting books u've come across till date. X

First read it from a library and then asked Crosswords for a copy. They got me one after 6 months of waiting. Its one rare book to find . Very interesting read bout the Bermuda Triangle. Dippy

| Senior - BHPian | Like reading about World War and other Intelligence-related books. Alistair Maclean is my favorite. One more book which i've enjoyed reading was the "The Mystery of Flight 007". Its about Korean Airlines Flight 007 which was shot by the Soviets for violating their airspace and the mystery is that not a single body was found. Mystery of KAL007

| Alister mclean's a favourite with me too. His HMS Ulysses is a classic. I tried reading rushdie's midnight's children couldnt go beyond the 10th page. The best book i have read is 'the old man and the sea' by Hemingway. alap. |

| Another MacLean fan here - started off with 'The Lonely Sea' - got all of his 8th class - and his biography . Can't say which one is my favourite - HMS Ulysses - so different from the rest of his work - but so much more satisfying - The Satan Bug, The Golden Rendezvous - Where Eagles Dare !!! - fats paced and exciting, unfortunately , some of his later work wasn't as involving as his earlier work Fans of MacLean might also like Desmond Bagley - very similar. also check out Sam Llelywllyn's sequels to the Navarone series. oh.. and get MacLean's 'The way to dusty death' - F1, drugs and kidnapping . read just about anyhing - from Ludlum to Wodehouse - suspense/technothrillers/action/humour..., wwII history, sprituality (well...just a bit actually) ... sadly I'm getting less time to read these days. Da Vinci Code's pretty good - preferred Angels and Demons though .. ...my nick's from a book as well ![]()
