| It's high time that we get better and affordable AC buses. I do not mind paying 106 bucks daily when I board the kinglong; however, not many can do so but they would want to. |

| BHPian | Better and affordable - I can definately say we have a service is better and affordable than BEST on certain routes atleast, example CBD belapur - Sion/dadar - NMMT Volvo. In comparision to other city bus services, the ticket rates are on par for BEST. Noticed that CNG tanks are stored on the roof in King long buses! |

| At this juncture, though off topic, it would be pertinent to take a close look at the history of Ashok Leyland which started off as Ashok Motors with the assembling of Austin A40 cars in 1948/49. Try this link History | Ashok Leyland Last edited by rajeev k : 19th July 2012 at 23:03. |

I find the BEST AC fares grossly high for what they offer. All CNG low floor buses (Kinglong, Tata Marcopolo, Ashok Leyland, Volvo) have CNG tanks on the roof itself. There is nothing wrong in it.

Visit pune someday, you will be shocked at the ticket rates vis-a-vis the service offered, which is one of the major reason why this is the 2 wheeler capital in india. I was shocked to see CNG tanks on rooftop exposed to elements, they can think of placing them below the row of seats to ensure lower Centre of Gravity.

And as for the tanks, I don't think there would be enough space for them below the floor in low floor buses.

The front glass on top floor does not open which robs the people seating at front on top floor from lot of fun IMO again but for the last time - Just a thought, since i do not know if this can be practically implemented - the seats in a low floor bus can be elevated and the tanks kept underneath the seats, rest of the floor of the low floor bus can be kept - Low floor this way.Last edited by silverado : 22nd July 2012 at 20:28.
