Its dedicated to Indian Trucks, pictures that I have been taking during my journeys and some of them which I found interesting.

Now for the fun part.

I have derived the following meanings from the most common Truck Rear Graphitis:

• <- Horn OK Please -> or <- Horn Please Ok -> (Ok means, it Ok when you Honk)
• Ok Horn Please Ok (I really don't understand the repetition of 'ok')
• Horn Do ('Do' the Horning - as in Nokia 'Do the Music'. There are infact tuning kits available for Truck Horns ringing the tune of Dhoom Macha de")
• Horn Maro (#^&&*&^@ vulgar, and self-explanatory)
• Blow Horn (#^&&*&^@ vulgar, and self-explanatory)
• Please Sound Horn (the only Decent one)

Some of the others sighted:

• Mera Bharat Mahan (to compliment everything weird and crazy that we see happening on Indian Roads - underlying message)
• Paas Diya Jayega (So don't tear all types of your hair, tailgating)

So what if Indian Trucks don't have alloy wheels and radials.

Nice blog BT. "Horn Do" it is in hindi meaning "horn karo". For "karo" they have used as "do". Just like in "jumma chumma de de".

BTW, I did not find anything vulgar in the above.

The way I understood. Horn Ok please means. Please sound horn and I will give you the OK (to pass) using hand wave signal.

Indian trucks and trucking companies are just not sophisticated. Many trucks in the west have forged alloys and radials including super-singles.

Anybody who can explain the Large number of NL registered Xtra Long Trailers.

One Theory is that that is the only State which does not require physical production of vehicle for Registration as it does not have the roads to accommodate them.

A highway journey is not possible without encountering Trucks, and we in smaller vehicles have to overtake them to be able keep up to our optimum speeds.

We Honk them, Curse them, overtake them, honk them.

But we also depend on them during instances when we are behind them and negotiating an overtake.

It is very important to keep note of the hand signals of the truck drivers who wave us when to overtake and warn us when its suicidal.

Possibilities again - (1) Taxes. (2) Ease of obtaining permit. (3) At least Kerala had refused to register some fo the bigger volvo trucks, since such vehicles hae a big GVW (Gross vehicle weight), and I recall a consumer court case against VW on this count. There alsw was a criminal case too. I guess NL may be more liberal on this count.

How about interviewing those truck drivers (when we meet them during our long trips) and upload the video in you tube? To know the other side of the coin

One more theory is that the taxes are low in NL state. Hence they are registered there.
