407 - Undisputed champion of the LCVs 608 / 609 - Widely used for blue metal application down south (replacing Bedfords & Premiers) 1210 & 1510 - Do I need to say anything? Moreover what's there in a name? On one hand people criticize TATA for retaining the INDICA badge for the VISTAs on other hand we discuss about non continuance of couple of brands. What's there in a name ![]()

| I am not sure what is wrong with the strategy. Provide more options to customers, but if there is no demand for a specific model discontinue it. Lot of times customer preference changes with time. Also lot of parts are common between the model, so it is a win-win for the customer. not sure what you are complaining about.. |

When CMVR rules for Trailors were forzen 44T category was available. But later the 44T category was elimniated or was combined with 49T for the ODC's. Both 44 and 49T are multi axle tractors with 44T being one live and one dead and 49T with twin live axles. But it was logical enough to switch over to 49T as it was easy to maintain a single tractor for the complete band width and easy for customer to take the max permissable load. This is somethings like standardisation. I was interested in Standardisation only Here Ace is like a bread and butter for TML in <1T category and why to complicate things with a similsr product Penguin. @Fifthwheel - 1210 and 1510 were phased out and after 1109 you have 1613. They keep doing all permutation and combination and launch models and at the end of the day only few survives. No offense ![]()

| PV 1500, the new four-wheeled light commercial vehicle from the Bajaj Auto stables, will be rolled out of the company’s Waluj plant near Aurangabad in 2009. The Bajaj facility at Waluj, spread over an area of 906 acres, currently manufactures the Bajaj Auto-Kawasaki range of motorcycles and three-wheelers. Designed and made by a team of Baja Auto professionals, the PV 1500 small truck is expected to hit Indian roads in June 2009. Being The new LCV model is Bajaj’s first vehicle in the LCV segment, and would compete against the popular Tata Ace. The Bajaj PV 1500 would arrive with a payload capacity of around one-tonne. Any scoop of Bajaj PV1500 |

| Spotted Mahindra-Navistar's rival to the 409/909. Looks pretty okay, and is slightly larger than the earlier small Mahindra truck (loadking/loadstar/whatever-it-was called). Ohh, and it has that Mahindra corporate grille too, but looks pretty okay. |

| Guys, I am a bit confused on a CV classification. Please help me out. When we say CV sales, does it include light trucks (pick-up trucks) too? The situation in India is very clear - it does; but what about the US, Australia and other places where pick-ups are used for provate use and as passenger cars? Also, I know that when we read statements like, "Global passenger vehicle sales for July are..." we are counting pick-ups like Chevrolet Colorado, Dodge Dakota, Nissan Frontier, and Toyota Tacoma. Vehicle classifications are different for different countries too and also are classified on the body frame. All this adds to the confusion. Please help me sort this out and provide sources that I can refer to. Thanks in advance. ~Gooney |
