| Hi, The deal for the ship, whose engine pics I had posted in my last post, could not go through but we have got an alternate deal from same Owners. As the wise men say, everything happens for good, this ship in fact is three years younger than the earlier one & as reported is in running condition. We inked the deal this morning at Indian time. Presently she is on her way to Imbituba port in Brazil. I'm posting here some profile pics of the ship & will post more pics once we takeover the ship next week in Brazil. Till then please take care, Happy Holi & Id-e-Milad. ![]() Vessel Main Deck ![]() Bridge Controls ![]() Steering ![]() Radars ![]() Alleyways ![]() ![]() P.S.: Pls do not waste water in Holi. |

Congrats Vijay. Whats the name of this ship? Pardon my ignorance but I did see a Painting brush on the Bridge Control photograph. Is it of any importance or is it just for cleaning (brushing off the dust) the screen.

| @vijaypalsingh Wondering how did I miss this thread so far ![]() I myself a shipping man, existing in this field (commercial & operations) for about 30 years, is very glad to see a shipowner in this forum. I worked in Bombay for almost 20 years ( I knew many SCI commercial people as well as Varun Shipping, the lost glory -Scindia steamship etc etc). From 2000 onwards I moved to Chennai and presently in home town but frequently travel to chennai to meet my Exporter /Charterer. (you may able to guess what I am doing?) I am not a techincal man but boarded many ships during my employment which includes Bulk carriers/tankers/container ships etc. Your valulable information gives many in this forum about what is a ship and its details etc. First time this topic is being discussed in this forum. Great going - congratulations |

Brush: You got it right. Its there just for dusting purpose. Initially a 4" brush was always used on chart tables, where the 'COURSES" for the ships were laid on charts. Since all the work was done with pencils, the brush was kept to clean the powder left after heavy erasing so as to reuse the same charts again. Quote:
Steering Wheel & Rudder control: Its one & the same thing. Last edited by vijaypalsingh : 25th February 2010 at 15:48.

| Saw this thread just now and...I don't know what to say! Never in my life I've imagined getting addicted to ships and the related things. This is one of the most interesting and informative threads in T-BHP. Congrats Vijay. Wishing you all the very best for your future purchases. |
