I've seen uneven bumpy surfaces on the NH45 going from Chennai to Trichy. Just before Trichy, the left side lane is full of uneven surfaces and when going at speed, the ride turns bumpy. What I've observed is that the black top surface of these roads tend to melt in the hot sun and when heavy vehicles cross them in that melted state, they become bumpy. But the highspeed/overtaking lane near the median seems fine as trucks use more of the outermost lane. I reckon it's more to do with the humid temperature conditions that ruin the surface of roads.
