How do Rubber tires work in an anti mine vehicle?

While it will save the passengers in the event of a mine blast, will they not become sitting ducks in it?

There will not be conventional doors for such a vehicle...it has a hatch at the top (open, in both pics) for entry into the cabin. The hatch is similar to the one found on (battle) tanks.

Thats not practical, police men must be able to exit the vehicle and regroup fast. with just 2 hatch, that wouldn't be easy.

One more pic of the monster... this looks more like the one in the first pic, air filter placement and all.

Such vehicles are built to remain operational even in case of the tyres deflating or bursting. The rims themselves can carry the vehicle off for some distance. The rims are equipped with run-flat devices to carry the vehicle off even in case of flats.

Run Flat Systems Abstract (From Goodyear Patent)

An annular ring-shaped run flat device is used in tires to permit continued use of the tire even when the tire is operating at low pressure or is completely deflated. This device is comprised of a rigid section and a non-rigid section. The tire, when it collapses, due to a reduction in pressure, comes to rest on the surface of the non-rigid, resilient, impact resistant section. This device is easy to assemble, can be used with conventional multi-piece rims, is light weight, durable and capable of absorbing impact under both inflated and deflated conditions. The device can also be used as a positive and non-positive bead spacer to prevent dismounting of the tire beads when tire pressure drops.

What about the engine? It has an uncanny resemblance to the Marauder though.

This monster would look awesome with :
1. Top mounted combat turret
2. Medium calibre machine gun installations
3. Mortar firing platform

And maybe a nice big battering ram too

Made in India? Really? What percentage of the parts are Indian manufactured? It seems "assembled in India" would be a more correct description.

Looks great and built for purpose. For me, it looks the best from the Mahindra stable (design) apart from their tractor range.

Mahindra Defence Systems, a Mahindra and Mahindra unit, is to acquire BAE Systems’ 26 per cent stake in their joint venture company Defence Land Systems India (DLSI).
Citing changes in the business environment and customer procurement frameworks among other reasons for the decision to end the venture, Brigadier Khutub Hai, Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra Defence Systems, said: “This is a strategic decision and will enable both the companies to approach opportunities individually and offer customised solutions.” ..

The columnist has bought attention to Mahindra's not being good at opeationalising JV's with international companies

"Incidentally, this is not the first time M&M is buying out a joint venture partner. Last September, M&M and its US partner Navistar decided to part ways. M&M said it would acquire Navistar International Corpís 49 per cent stake in Mahindra Navistar Automotives and Mahindra Navistar Engines for Rs 175 crore."

Also is this decision a fallout of 14k cuts in defense spends announced:

Is the Humungous size a necessity for these vehicles, because in most trouble zones the access might be a little restrictive. For example, what if this has to make its way between two earthen huts without adequate width in between.

Hey guys,

Few details which I found on ZigWheel's website:
  • The MPV-1 has a V6 Diesel engine.
  • Only 1 door i.e. the rear hatch.
  • Has run-flat tires.
  • Normally driven on 6x4 but when required can be shifted to 6x6.
  • Can seat upto 18 + 2 people.
  • Has firing holes next to each seat if required.
  • The bonnet cannot be lifted manually (due to its heavy weight). It has a pneumatic system to lift it automatically when required.
  • Has Air conditioning system.
  • Price Rs. 1 crore.
Regards
