Any more pics of the interiors? Isn't it a RWD like any other E+1 bus, or has AL gone the Avion way?

Any info on the specs? I remember reading a scoop by arvi86 in his blog, that the Solo was so low-floored that the trial bus was finding it difficult to drive over the speed-breakers on Chennai roads

Has some style! Is this not a competition to the Nissan Evalia/NV200?

Yes, you did miss it! Actually, who brought out "India's first 5-axle truck"? Both AL and TM are laying claims for this in their respective press releases! Was there a 3723 from AMW as well?

The AL "Janbus" also features an AMT - Automated Manual Transmission (the first of its kind in India). It's almost like combining the best features of an AT & MT into a single system.

Thanks SS,
As I said its a big fever with in CV makers to enter the highest payload rigid haul segment. So all presented this product.
But if you ask me who is first no body has answer.
In other context by going with the time of press release I can say TML is the first as they have given the press release some two hours before AL.
AMW 3723 pic for you

I dont have as of now as it was not allowed to take.
But Jan bus big show lies not with the interiors but under the floor in the chassis. AL has taken a great innovative ideas to make the low floor with engine at front - has claimed 21 patents.

Other features are in this bus are:
Side mounted cantilever type seats - with virtually no arm for the seats amd seat mounted stanchions.
Leymatic - Automated Transmission first of its kind in India

Will try to take a picture once I spot one again.

Cheers and Drive Safe.

You are speaking about this bus, right!

In order to have a better reach these buses will have a common front facia.
First seen from i bus 2.

I particularly loved this Tata. Would love to see some high end buses from AL and Tata on roads.

What is this Stile from AL? MPV? or a pickup van? I've not seen these on road at all!
thanks Samm..You may need to wait for some more time to see them on road .as its

Did DAF put up a stall too?
I thought I saw something in the background of one of the car stalls!

They hid themselves in a corner inside the Force Motors stall.
There was a CF 16T Tipper on display.
Interestingly the tipper body is made by our AMW's - Tranztar.
Will Paccar partner with AMW?
This is the first tipper I have seen with both axle with Parabolic leaf suspensions

Can you (or Ashley) please throw some light on the exact working of this system?

Well this is something which I have been hearing about too. Paccar is for sure interested to enter the Indian market and AMW seems to be a good choice since they have already got a name for themselves here. The coming months are going to be interesting. A tie-up with Paccar would be a shot in the arm for AMW.

In a nutshell, the system works by combining an MT & AT into a single solution. It uses the MT gearbox with an AT actuation system. So, the driver gets the benefit of an AT (like gear changing is just a tap or even complete automatic) and the vehicle gets the benefit of an MT (better mileage, no need to change the gearbox etc). The actual gear selection happens with the help of pneumatics.

It would be easier to understand if someone could get the pictures of the interiors.

Ironically DAF, a subsidiary of Paccar is made by Leyland of UK. AMW has done a good job in recent times.

I had reported this sighting way back in 2010.

True. But that doesn't make them the first to launch it! Maybe AL and AMW also had their test mules on road, which they've converted to marketable products now. Doesn't matter who brought it first, what matters is, how they perform on the road.

Only the DAF LF and CFs are made by Leyland Trucks UK (powered by Cummins engines). The high volume heavy duty XF series is made by DAF in its facility at Eindhoven and is powered by DAFs MX engines.

Sajo, there was no two lift axle in any of the models displayed.
Can you help me to understand better?

You are right!

Remember when VECV came with Hercules 35.31, there was a good pull, but later when TM - LPT 3118 and AL - 3123 then, 3116 and 3118 now(only inline models in 31T), came with their own products the market shifted and now these two are the dominant.

Still AMW,MNAL are not able to penetrate in this segment.

Commercial launch of these products is quite sometime away, market acceptance of product/brnad will be a wait and watch.
