Default The Eicher 11.10 Truck

Came across Eicher 11.10's official website here..
I guess this is the first product specific website from Eicher.

The website is good which details all about the specifications, features, videos etc.
There also exists a calculator which shows how much you save per month by owning 11.10.
The concept seems to be good but the coding has some error, which accepts any unrealistic figure upwards of even 100 Kmpl.

Ashley, any idea about Eicher's R&D capabilities? I remember old Eichers were just variants of Mitsubishi trucks re-badged as Eichers. Are their newer models developed in-house? What about their engines?

There's interesting competition coming up in near future with following models:

Bharat Benz's Fuso Light Duty (Original Eicher one)
AL AVIA range
Tata LPT range

Eicher has came long way from rebadging Mitsu's.
1. Now they are parther with Volvo trucks in India. Do visit VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. :: Home
2. They also own Royal Enfield. IIRC Eicher management only started revival of brand with using UCE in all models.

Eicher engines have their DNA from Mitsubishi but they have migrated long way from them.
Eicher engine capacity : 4 cylinder - 3.3 litre and 6 cylinder - 5 litre.
Upto 31T haulage they use Eicher engines and for 40T tractor they use Cummins engines.
In Terra16 they use Eicher engine and Terra 25 uses Cummins 6BT - 5.8 litre engines.
For all their buses they use Eicher engines.
Eicher has a good success rate in ICV. They are market leader in 7.5T to 10T segment.
In recent times after Volvo investing in Eicher, sea of changes were expected but nothing much have taken place yet, but for renaming of the company.
Eicher has just started making engines for Volvo which are Euro III, IV and V ready.

Include Tata's Ultra truck range also.
But for Eicher all others will have a fresh line up of products in a year or two from now.

.
These puny things ( by relative standards) seems to be doing their job well. The 3.3 liter block now stretched upto the recently launched 14.5 Ton ICV and the 5 liter 6 cyl in a 31 Tonner seems like a remarkable achievement. Even a couple of lakhs of first overhaul life would sound good if one goes purely by the engine capacity.
