Default Re: Are Volvo Buses unsafe? Prone to fire?

Volvo bus turns out to be Lakshagruha waiting for a spark. Why did they build the bus like that? Is the European versions also built similar?
The least I would expect is the plywood and rubber floor is only for aesthetics, on top of a steel flooring.

Default Unsafe Volvo buses: CID

The Crime Investigation Department in Andhra Pradesh, which investigated fire on board Volvo bus in Mahbubnagar District in Andhra Pradesh on October 30 last year that killed 45 people , has stated in its chargesheet that it has found faulty design of the Volvo bus, rash and negligent driving by the driver and the culvert design with iron pipes as the main reasons behind the mishap.

I wouldn't question the design and safety features of the Volvo buses. However, it's the private operators who treat it just like another one of their Leylands and Isuzus. They probably get carried away by the mere fact of it's capabilities to attain 3 digit speeds with ease, and that's when the troubles begin. Unfortunately, in private travels, no one bothers to give them a stick.

Whatever the original falts, the prime fault which was cheap ATF mixed in diesel has been sorted out.
Price of ATF increased from Rs 36000 per KL to above Rs 60000 per KL in the last year or so, and contamination of diesel with a ATF + Engine oil mixture has stopped. This has cut reduced the fire after an accident incident to nearly negligible nos.

Today morning I saw a Volvo bus with burnt engine bay. It was parked on Gurgaon Faridabad road towards Faridabad. Could not take pictures as I was driving in opposite direction. Does anyone have any detail?
