Not to forget, even Sand lorries are Bharat Benze these days!
Bharat Benz's current advantage in 12T platform is the lengthier load body option. This is the reason, most of the parcel vans are moving to BB.
Sand lorries are big syndicate and are run as fleet. Manufacturers also target these fleet owners with good backup and support.

But I think Bharat Benz is the only company which can provide a meaningful competition to Ashok Leyland and Tata and in about 5-7 years from now, Bharat Benz could potentially dislodge Ashok Leyland in the MHCV segment
You are right. As of now BB is the only serious competitor to AL and TM. No one has made an impact so high in short term. This has triggered lot of back fire and has increased the bar in the Indian Industry.

BB also has made companies like AMW and Mahindra redundant. They are really struggling to retain their customers and to move further. Any one who is currently dissatisfied with AL and TM, need not look anything beyond BB. The biggest problem currently is the availability of parts and complete dependency on ASC for service.
This in a span of another 2 years, will get neutralize and either customer will be ok to service in ASC or BB will train outside mechanics.

BB will come out with BB brand of Buses. First to come out will be Intercity chassis and 12M from Ashokleyland is the benchmark here.
BB will partner with Wright Buses to build body inside their premises itself.
If I am not wrong, already a couple of imported buses have arrived.

So around 750 ICV, MCV & HCV trucks sold per month make it a little better than Mahindra Trucks. Not a big number after 2.5 years of operations.
Nevertheless, despite the overall slowdown and small network of dealerships, they may yet get a chance to eat away market share and make life hell for the big 2 if the two main things pick up.
Mahindra has taken so much time to settle not just with marketing bus also with products. The team was completely nascent with respect to the Industry and have really taken light. Though their products was not so bad, it didn't meet many of the customer specific requirements including service offerings. They have just touched 10K numbers after some 5 years and after BB arrival the sales have still reduced.
