Default Samsung’s safety system allows you to see past the truck in front

Quote:
The Safety Truck comes equipped with a front-view camera that provides a peek at what’s ahead for any driver stuck idling behind the truck. A wall of four television monitors hung on the back of the semi connects to a wireless camera attached to the front. The live feed from the camera shows what the driver of the truck sees, allowing drivers behind to make decisions about whether or not it’s safe to pass the slower semi, both during the day and at night.

Oh my, I can imagine the impatient bikers and drivers using this to plan their snake maneuvers on the highway, for squeezing through even tighter situations than now.

On the other hand, it may improve the safety since a person can now make a more informed decision about overtaking.

This has the potential to save many accidents on single lanes. Kudos to Samsung for coming up with this idea. But will the trucking companies implement this at a mass level unless enforced?

A very bright idea by Samsung.
All of us have experienced the feeling of being lost when behind a large container truck on our two laned highways. Upon peeking, we often realise with a shudder that a vehicle just went past and we were saved just by the skin of our car.

Hope the technology companies and vehicle manufacturers join hands to make our roads safer with such cutting edge technologies.

I thought this was a new ad campaign for their sAMOLED televisions!
I expect this technology to add advertisements on the top of the screen or full screen ads while the truck is parked on the side of the road to offset the costs involved.

Isn't something fishy there? Just have a look at the angle of the picture shown in the T.V.

Where is the camera placed? Has the camera crossed the lane?

This could be necessary for our roads, but where would you place it? On the loading board of our Tatas?
God, that display will have to have Re-entry capable level of toughness!

I am sure if this is done soon enough truckies will have videos of altaf raja playing through for everyone!

Though it is an attractive feature, how feasible is this?
Think about the investment cost. To make the display to some extent visible for the vehicle behind, it should at least be 100+ inches in size.
And how does the company secure its screen from thefts?
To make this technology a noticeable success, all existing trucks should install these, and all the new trucks should come factory fitted with such displays.
Now, talking about our country, let these trucks fix the broken tail lights first, then we can talk about such displays!!
