Default Which is this new Bus?

Which is this new rear-engined bus guys? Has Ashok Leyland decided to get into them? The interiors sported a nice beige theme, and it seemed a well layed out bus. The interior and exterior was devoid of any markings whatsoever. Also, its reg. no. didnt give a clue asto where it was from..

@Mods : I posted it here since I am not sure which section this one goes into.

sajo,

Depends on where this bus was seen. If in Pune, definitely not an Ashok Leyland bus since all their R&D is down south in Tamil Nadu.

Most probably a custom-made bus (the front-end is a neat Volvo B7R rip-off) or a prototype Tata bus.

The other CV manufacturer Eicher doesnt have dedicated R&D capabilities to come up with a new design.

Actually, I saw this in the ARAI parking lot. So it doesnt matter where the bus has its testing/R&D facilities.

That demystifies my supposition that it was spotted in Pune generally. In which you're right abt it potentially belonging to any manufacturer.

@Sajo, a look / pic of the wheel hub could have helped. [Unless the manufacturer camouflaged that too]. A less accessible area would have been the console / steering wheel - again, if it had not been camouflaged.

Will try to get a hub/wheel pic today, if its still there(I try to go there everyday) . I wanted to get a pic of the console (by climbing up to the cabin), but couldnt as an ARAI security person had walked over to see what I was upto.

The front of the bus has a circular indentation just above the number plate... the ashok leyland symbol would be a perfect fit there!
