Yes, he headed M&HCV platform after organizational effectiveness (OE) program was rolled out. He was head of M&HCV from 1st April 2017!!Earlier he was being considered as replacement of CV business engineering head, as current one is going to be superannuated by August. But this Pisharody incident turned the things otherwise I guess..

TATA is like the Indian government. Nobody owns anything, so the incentive to do a good job isn't taken seriously, and nothing ever is the fault of one person since it's the collective mindset that damages the mindset.

This goes right from the top to the Chairman to the assembly line workers who couldn't even properly assemble the clock in the Tata Sumo Grande that I once owned.


TATA needs to suck it up and actually create a good product in the market place. Mediocrity in such a large scale operation is never the fault of one person. Since these people needed to save face on the board someone had to go. LOSERS TO THE CORE. The entire episode with Cyrus Mistry was also highly immature and silly. It looked like a teenage girls gossiping and fighting.
More to add to this:

1) Ratan Tata started an airline in recent times with Air Asia Malaysia and Lakshmi Mittal's relative. I remember this as it was launched amidst much hype and hullabaloo. Fast forward 4 years and it is in full losses. Lakshmi Mittal's relative lost his full 100 crores investment and profanity is being used on the board meetings due to frustration. The CEO of this was a former FASHION MODEL + INSEAD MBA !

2) Tata's Mundra Power Plant is in losses. 51% of a $4 billion asset is now being offered to the Indian Government by Tata for 1 Rupee because they can't sustain the venture they want to piggyback on Indian government thinking they can get financial help.
