Got chance to shoot the SRM B9R. It was a KL.01 registered bus. So can be sure that it is operating on Chennai route and not to Bangalore.

I saw 2 kerala registered B9R one at irinjalakkuda and the other at ernakulam , KL - 45 and Kl - 7 respectively.

I have heard that the The previous Volvos were registered in Karnataka because of the tax issue which benefits teh operator , but just wonder now

Would be really glad if you could recall the name of the operators (if they were marked). AFAIK, the only major travel operator - who can afford B9Rs - would be Kallada. (Shama too is based in Thrissur).

Yes. I heard that with the last Inter-State transport Agreement, Karnataka has agreed to reduce entry tax/permit charges for KL registered tourist vehicles. Perhaps this has come into force from this financial year.

So I might have shot the bus to Bangalore.

I had seen two more B9Rs, one from KPN (White colour) and the other from 'Shama (or Sharma?)- brown colour.

Any idea whether any of the Volvo services to Trivandrum/Kerala has toilets?

I think kerala registered SRM B9Rs are running on Tvm - chennai route and Karnataka registered B9Rs on bangalore route

SRM Volvo B9R I travelled to bangalore in october was KA registered and i saw its return bus near palakkad which also had KA registration.

It was a very comfortable journey and i would recommend to all

At time of my travel KL registered were just few days old and were parked nearby

I travelled in a Volvo city bus (8400?) in Chennai yesterday. There was a strange sound and slight vibration when the gears were changing. I dont know if this was a problem just in that bus, or some issue in the current lot. Strange, considering that the bus i travelled in was almost brand new (the regn number indicated it was in the recent batch launched by the TN CM within the last couple of weeks).

Anyone else noticed this in any recent Volvo city buses?

Really , is Shama based in thrissur ?

AFAIK - shama belongs to the liquor baron who did partnersip with Kallada and his partner , but he is not based in in kerala , the Name Shama is his wifes name.

How about Padikkal - is it based at thrissur ?

How about Jabbar travels ?

The SRM is teh one which is there in Bangalore right ?

The Shama that operates to Kerala, is indeed based in Thrissur. Their current "Head Office" is at the same place where Puzhakkadavil was once based. I think Shama took over Puzhakkadavil's assets.

SRM is based in Chennai.

I travelled in Padikkal today , we started at 7.45 pm from aluva and reached at 7.30 am at bangalore

It is Issuzu 7 speed , i was sitting in front , driver was very friendly , I talked him about the speed , he told me he will show how to rip it , after a small tea break he told me not to sleep , and asked to put the head out of the blanket and curtian for some time ,

OMG , he showed me the needle touching the end that is 140 KMPH

Awsome , I thought of screaming

The bus was equipped with very less passangers.

I really enjoyed the full throttle ripping of the bus at 140 kmph

Indeed the Padikkal is owned by some some from thrissur Malappuram border area.

All the drivers are trained from the company

The bus is Sony ICED , dual monitiors

DENSO air conditioned.

The with lacks so no shoulder space when compared to Vovlo buses.

No leg space when compared to VOLVO

Suspension is great, but woobling is less when compared to Volvo.

I am gonna book ma ticket in the multi axle Volvo

Since it was night and ma mobile does not have a flash was not able to flash.

FYI of Bangalore travallers

Bugs in the seats of buses

Padikkal is BUG free , we can sleep with out itching here and there.

I've always felt Volvos were low on shoulder and leg space when compared to the usual non A/C buses, and now you say the Isuzus have even lower dimensions on both counts?!
