Force motors[tempo traveller] is on the verge of launching a 20-25 seater vehicle which would be having 4 wheels at the back[a competitor for swaraj mazda and the likes].
Dont know if they plan to make the existing tempo traveller bigger or this would be a new design.

Eicher started license-manufacturing Mitsubishi's Canter LCV in India in 1980s. When the technical collaboration agreement expired, Eicher continued to manufacture the same vehicle under Eicher brand. Later on, Eicher worked on the Mitsubishi engine and developed a 6 cylinder version of the original 4 cylinder engine in collaboration with AVL but without any help from Mitsubishi. This engine was used same in their new HCV range. The 4 cylinder engine was also improved in collaboration with AVL to comply with newer emission norms and they have even come up with a Euro-IV compliant CRDI version of the same.

To answer your query, well one can say their engines are indigenous but Mitsubishi-derived. You could call them semi-indigenous perhaps.

THIS is not a DCM TOYOTA

you can call it as an international version of it. these buses are hugely popular in the middle east also along with mitsubishi rosa.

I saw a couple of Ashok Leyland 'Corona' buses on Kanakpura road yesterday. Apparently, these are being tested by KSRTC on the Bangalore - Mysore stretch with an idea of replacing the expensive Volvos. Sorry, didnt have my camera to get pics. Will get some next week.
