The Airport bus looks like a Leyland... is it?

BTW, the bus seems to be registered in Ponnani.. which AP is this? Cochin?

The Registration details of the bus shows that the bus is registered to "Benzy Travels" in Ponnani. (Benzy is same as "Akbar Travels of India")

The RC shows that it has a 110hp engine, but no word about the manufacturer, and the bus is reportedly manufactured in 2000!!!!

Chasis might be 2000, the body could have been reworked by sutlej recently. Didnt look like an old body work to me. Yes it is Cochin AP.

Does anybody know about the cobus? the airport bus specialist? well, I had a chance to see the cobus belonging to the bangalore international airport.matter of fact,I had a detailed look at their entire fleet of vehicles which includes the ford galaxy based surface friction testing van, the cobus airport bus, the MAN based runway cleaning truck, the multi crore fire fighters ( feels awesome inside the cab.tremendous technology) and scores of their scorpios.rare chance it was.

Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram has another name, 'Ananthapuri'. New city buses introduced by KSRTC in the city are all branded as 'Ananthapuri Fast's.

Somehow the airport busses are so much more interesting than normal busses, hope some crazy operator introduces them on inter-city routes. Especially morming trips in the countryside in air-conditioned comfort and those bay windows.

The COBUS has an important design element. The rear wheels are covered, like some of the olden days cars and the front wheel arches are assymetrical. Imagine the same design on a XYLO.

Another top brand of airport GSE is Neoplan.

2007 Neoplan N9122K at Salzburg, Austria.

2007 Neoplan N9122K at Dubai.

The Neoplan N9122K is powered by a MAN 6-cylinder common-rail injected diesel that develops 240 bhp.

Like a car, it has independent suspension on all four wheels.
These buses are made in Slovenia in the city of Maribor.
The manufacturer is Neoplan-TVM.
TVM stands for Tovarna Vozil Maribor.

'Ananthapuri Fast' were the first to to be introduced by KSRTC, which were introduced as Trivandrum City service buses. The colour is white and blue.

'Venad' was introduced later, in place of new 'Ordinary services'. The colour is white and violet.

Venad, which was introduced in TVM dist, later introduced in all southern districts.

'Malabar' the equivalent of Venad and with the same colour scheme (Violet lines) was introduced in Northern districts.

This is a Venad (note the violet colour instead of blue) in Trivandrum.

You can also see the ordinary mini bus. This was used in TVM city as well as other places in Kerala.
