Saw this yesterday. Seems like APSRTC has inducted new buses for Garuda.
Anybody knows what are these?

These are Cerita buses built by JCBL. They are based on the China-based Kinglong buses.

Many operators are running these buses around the country.

How do these compare to Volvo B7R CRDI in terms of Power and Torque. Data is not available on the JCBL site.

the comparison of these Kinglongs to Volvos in terms of Engine, perofrmance, and build etc etc is impossible

Volvo's B7R series are way way ahead in terms of everything, just travelled in one of the similar Certia's on BOM Pune route by MSRTC.. and that was not a pleasant experience
The worst part is that transport operators.. including government bodies like the MRSRTC charge same amount ie Rs 225 for these P.O.S. buses as well as Volvo B7Rs and you dont know which one are you going to be put in unless you exactly see the bus before boarding becasue even the ticket seller doesnt know about it..

OT, but What are the advantages of the low-driver seat(that are almost on all air-buses)?

Seems like TATA took off Daewoo(defunct)'s Truck business. So ,this means those CNG buses and trucks in Pakistan -Daewoo brand are actually TATA Made?

Apart from the now-common(ly spotted) Mahindra-Navistar truck, there is also another 6x4 truck, with a tank mounted on it which is undergoing testing. The cab design is quite modern, and sports MH-14/TC plates, so I guess its a Tata.
Then there is another white 6x4 tractor pulling a test trailer (no, its not the Tata's world Truck), with blue(ish) decals on the doors, which I had brief glimpses of a couple of times, but never managed a complete look. Cab looks modern, but not really cutting edge.

Lastly, there is also a compact but heavily disguised small truck.(407 class) It looks like one of those Japanese compact trucks.
Has anybody else here spotted the above and can give more details on those ?
The CV segment would see a lot of action by the year end, I guess.
Here are pics of the light duty CV that I manage to capture last week. Can anyone throw light on what it might be ?

I'm surprised to see that they are switching over to full forward control. type cab. I thought customers liked the short hood design.

Thanks Tushar. Mahindra is really taking things too far with its corporate grille on the truck too.
The tractor (4x2) version of this looks acceptable though, in deep blue colour.

I have a question though. Will the above picture posted by tushky qualify/be sold as as a sleeper cab here ? Doesnt it seem to be a bit cramped for a sleeper? Ditto for the other currently sold tractors/rigids in the market (Tata/AL).

Please see a typical cab over engine sleeper sold elsewhere, seems to be a lot roomier in the back.

And I am not even talking about American sized accommodation. They seem to have a decently sized bedroom back there.
