They could put up a plant in Hosur. It makes sense considering Ashok Leyland is already there with their vendors. It could be convenient to leverage any common vendors.

Fine as long as they try to drive in the worlds largest bus PLANT and not the Largest BUS in India.

Funny how we as a country with a very large and intense population need large buses for transportation but our roads permit only smaller ones. a bit OT but felt it should be mentioned.

TATA can really drive in International quality with the multiple Tie-up that they have globally (including the Daewoon buyout) that gives them access to the best tech.

Some of the low-floor Marcopolo buses in Delhi that I've seen are in a very bad shape, as compared to the low-floor volvos in Bangalore.

It could be because of the kind of traffic and usage too. But, I somehow felt the marcopolo's were lacking in something (doesnt really matter if they are AC or Non-AC).

If the Marcopolo's are anything to go by....... sigh! (my personal opinion though).

IIRC, the deal happened several months back, and was mentioned somewhere here.

Marcopolo buses introduced in Bengaluru itself look bad. Since Volvo was not able to provide the numbers that were needed, the govt will again introduce them in large numbers along with Volvos.
