Looks nice. What could be it's price?

Will it be sold by Tata's passenger vehicle dealers or commercial vehicle dealers?

TATA is truly maturing in terms of design..But I didn't particularly like the grill and the front bumper could have been better integrated with those superb wheel arches!

Is it actually coming to India finally? If yes it will be a good alternative to those in the market for a Safari. I wouldve considered it, but I'm on a vehicular diet now.

So, the EX version seems to have a covered "load bay" : what I saw at Concorde Chennai did not have it, and I dont remember seeing the EX badge on it.

The Xenon, I think , is definitely targeted at the private market ( only white-board regn.). It will be interesting to see how they price it. The launch is now going to depend on how soon they get the local RTOs' approval for regn, I guess. There seems to be some delay on this front.

TATA, will try to get it under private reg. commercial vehicle with 2.2L and 4x4. I do not think so, but one can get these in yellow plate. TATA will have to get couple of seats in the bay though for private reg, make it a people carrier.

Answers to few of the queries

1) The vehicle is manufactured at the Pune plant
2) The pricing has not been decided
3) The loading bay cover is an after market fitment (meant for the launch) not factory fitted
4) Fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired. The panel gaps are inconsistent
5) The launch could be delayed, due to technical issues which have cropped on this paticular vehicle.

After whole year of production [the 2.2L engined-3L was produced for longer]of this vehicle for export TATA still has issues? Man will have to wait and watch for sometime before buying. What problem is there? is it with the engine, electronics, transmission or something else?
You mentioned a peculiar problem, so differently with running gear which is similar to safari or grande.
So the delay is still there.
Hey milin , due have the spec for the engine is 140-120bhp?

Question Mechanical problem or RTO issues?

Are you sure it is some problem in the vehicle (as in mechanical/electrical/etc.), and not due to RTO issues? What I heard was that there were some problems in getting the RTO (in TN atleast) to approve it. That is why the delay in the launch.

If Tata is launching this as a private vehicle, and offers 2.2 engine in crew cab with power steering, windows, 4x4 and ABS, then I might be tempted to sell my Scorpio M Hawk.

The problem is a mechanical one and nothing to do with RTO approvals.

During trial runs in Mumbai, during braking the rear wheels would lock up abruptly and cause the rear to fish tail and the engineers feared this was causing excessive flex in the chassis, as the rear end of the vehicle would shudder excessivley after recovering from the lock up. Hence the team from the plant has been called to examine the same.

Well the engine in this vehicle was the 140 bhp variant.
