Well the engine in this vehicle was the 140 bhp variant.
Hey Thanks buddy, so it's the same problem as in the new safari, the rear wheel lock, some on the forum had it, if I am not mistaken.Something about the pressure valve.
So this means TATA is using different parts for export and domestic market. Cause non of the reviews on the net mention this with the xenon.[at least the once I have rad ].

Hi,

well the site is already up xenon.tatamotors.com all of you can have a look. Its coming probably by JAN END OR FEB 1ST WEEK, next month some 20 EX XT's are going to be produced (4x2 16 nos & 4x4 4nos). Possibly a launch is near. Some news of some octroi consessions are also there hence can be very competitevely priced with 2.2 140bhp engine.

No mention of ABS in the English version of the site. The differences between Premium and Economy versions seems to be HVAC, alloys, leather steering wheel and fabric door pads. There is also a 3.0 version, but I reckon that won't be made available in India.

Hope they launch the new Safari based on this platform with coil spring rear suspension soon. That will be a kickass vehicle.

The current version also features coil springs. Did you mean new Sumo?

@ Bond - it looks like the site is meant for their international markets, not for India.

I meant that both new vehicles launched on he new platform, the Grande and the Xenon both have leaf springs in the rear. When they put the new Safari on the revised platform, I am sure they will put a coil springs at the rear.

Guess who I bumped into last evening on Marine Drive? This truck has the 3 P's : Personality, Presence & Purpose. I particularly liked the embossed "TATA" look on the rear tailgate. And if the new breed of Tata products is anything to go by, it's going to be a heck of a pickup!

Nice catch there GTO.
The truck looks great but do we have a market for such vehicles in India?

Nice Photos GTO, Looks cool when in traffic without the cladding. Now hoping that TATA get the pricing right.

With a tyre upsize and some bull bars, this is going to be one mean machine !!
if the twin cab comes in at around 7-8 lakhs - i think it would be a steal ! and at that price the commercial users would also stay away from it

Nothing much evident from the pics. except the big Tata badging, rest of the vehicle looks like the Tata mobile from the pics.
GTO must have had hard time catching up with it on his M&M jeep!

LOL! Not in traffic, I didn't. Plus, the Xenons driver was literally babying her.

Either ways, I have given up dragging my Jeep after losing out to a Spacio (of all the damn things!!) . Needless to say the PYT in my passenger seat wasn't amused (Oh honey, it must be a case of bad fuel the last I filled up).

Lolz! Oh my God, Spacio showing it a clean pair of heels, that must have been nerve wrecking! What fun is it then on mettled roads!

Btw, is GTO & GTO Touring one & the same?

Well, it was on my old 2.1 engine that, at the time, had over 1.2 - 1.3L on it (weak compression?!). But that doesn't mean I am racing the new 2.5L anytime soon!

Mettled? You mean tarmac? Let me put it this way : I derive more pleasure from driving the Jeep than from any of my other (faster) cars. And the capable stuff really starts showing once we get into the woods. Having so much fun under 30 kph ought to be a sin.

Yup, is too.

We've gone woefully off-topic. PLease continue any Jeep queries on my Classic thread.
