Its not a locally built body. KSRTC's Regional Workshop has only modified the original Globus body - the front profile was changed (it was changed long back), side-glasses were replaced with shutters, and the AC was removed. The front partition was also pulled down.

So, the main structure is of the Globus itself.

Thanks for the clarification Binay. The end result of these modifications is that the product looks shabby, like a locally-built bus. This can be dilute the brand's reputation, if Tata is serious about building one.

These Globuses live up to their reputation! Out of the two globus services from Thrissur to Bangalore, one was almost always cancelled. Now they've replaced both these services with Super Express Airbuses.

Spotted a new red colour non-AC TATA bus on elevated way today. Looked nice and different from regular non AC Marcopolos(blue).

Yeah, they look nice. There is an 'Eco friendly' badge on the sides at the rear. IIRC, there are blue eco friendly buses too. I have noticed that they are more or less silent than the regular buses. Any idea if they have implemented any new technology?

I've been seeing some of them of late. I see the return of the rounded indicator lamps in the front, and the two-pair HLs, similar to those found in the red&white inter-city buses of KaSRTC.

Are they Marcopolo make, or KMS built? Don't remember seeing the Marcopolo moniker at the front or the rear. The bonnet and seats look good compared to the Marcopolos.

EDIT: Saw that they're KMS built. Noticed the logo near the front LHS indicator.

I think they have SCR (selective catalytic reduction) technology to comply with BS-IV emission norms.

Body is built by KMS, Kengeri. Had see a few of them during my weekend visit to Bangalore - sadly could not take any images of the new buses.

The order is equally seperated for supply of chassis and fully built.

EDIT: Saw that they're KMS built. Noticed the logo near the front LHS indicator.

The new buses are a part of the fleet modernization which was pending due to non availablity of BS4 buses. This is the first batch of 25 Non A/C Tata buses which have reduced smoke emissions and feature more spacious entry and exit doors. These buses have engines by Cummins ISBe and are BS-IV compliant. They come at a cost of `26 Lakh each and will ply from Monday onwards on routes between Domlur to Srinagar, Majestic to Chandra Layout, Uttarahalli, Kengeri Satellite Town and Anajanapura amongst others.
