The first two are 12M and others are Viking?

The first three have an engine-driven AC to the best of my knowledge. Not sure of the last three. Of all these, only the Parasuram has the 225hp CRS engine.
Missed two buses..
Sonali [Kozhikode - Vazhikadavu] and 2nd bus of Peters in Panathoor-KTM.
Yesterday night around 9.20 PM I was in Kaloor stand, I got the pic of Peter's AC Bus. The bus has a slave engine on the right side after the front door. Also the rear door is closed and seats are placed above it. I guess it is used as an emergency exit.
Pics will be uploaded tonight.

Ranjith,

Sonali is not running anymore. AFAIK, Peters has only one AC bus, not two. In case you've spotted, then it might be true.

Edit: Peter's has only one bus. KL-36-B-7300. That bus has permit in Kottayam-Panathur-Panjikkal route. The pairing bus is a non-ac it seems. Photo of this bus is there in the previous page.

KPN Launching its Hyderabad-Ernakulam Multi Axle soon. Saw the banner in their website.

This is the third bus in Hyderabad-Ernakulam route right? Others being Kallada and Kesineni.

Binai,
Any idea why Sonali stopped service?
Peters has a pairing bus on the same route. The bus is KL 36-B-7400.
I spotted these buses on MON and THU & I cross checked with the conductor yesterday about these 2 buses.

Its been over two months since online reservation started. They were adding one station at a time - now most towns are covered in the reservation system. The portal is run by Radiant Info - the same company that runs the show for Karnataka SRTC (Awatar).

The sad fact is, all the SETC Super-Deluxe/Semi-Deluxe buses are also sold as "Ultra Deluxe" in the reservation system - so in effect, you pay the same amount for a 36 seater Air Bus and a 48 seater non-air bus!

I checked the site today and felt like it could have been better. The user need to check availability for each type of bus.

Eticketing was opened to public from 3rd October 2011. As per the original tender released, it was planned to open in 2nd week of february 2012. Since the same vendor(Radiant Info) who provided the earlier website for counter booking got the the new order, they opened the eticketing option much earlier(Approx 5 months) than the planned date. In a single shot they also opened up a low bandwidth version of the main website for using it in mobiles http://m.tnstc.in.

"Radiant Info" is the vendor who is supplying ticketing environment for KSRTC, TNSTC, GSRTC etc. You can also check this website "BusIndia™ Official Website". I think APSRTC also had the same Radiant Info developed website earlier. Now APSRTC moved to a new vendor called AbhiBus.

After the formation of new govt, we also got the much waited fare hike. Last fare hike happened in 2001. It was also done by the same ADMK Govt. Hope we will get new premium services also.

Not just type of bus, but one needs to specify the timings you are looking for as well. As if all this was not enough, they have also specified "Bangalore" and "Bangalore-Satellite" as different origins - so you need to search separately for them as well! (They have defined "Chennai Central" and "Chennai CMBT" separately as well).

Yes. APSRTC was also using RadiantInfo package earlier. Now they've moved to AbhiBus - Abhibus is a major ticketing service provider among private bus operators.

The major ticketing providers among private bus operators are:
1. AbhiBus (Hyderabad based firm. Most AP based operators use this package. Kallada too uses this package)
2. TicketSimply (Bangalore based firm. Most KA based operators use this provider. All their websites look the same. Bharathi, Sona, Greyhound are some examples)
3. Hermes-IT (Chennai based firm. I haven't seen much sites using this provider. Major users are Sharma, SRM, Kallada G4)
4. TicketGoose (Chennai based firm. Most TN based operators use TicketGoose.)

Peter's has a slave driven A/C. IIRC, I heard a constant hum similar to a jeep engine.

I was susprised to know that they have launched e-booking. After 10 minutes into the site I'm surprised how they could launch such a lame, treasure hunt kind of booking website. Huge fail.

We were waiting for this eticketing option on tnstc/setc for long time. Only this year we got it. They could have removed separate Bangalore-satellite bus stand option. Not sure whether we have a service starting from Chennai central. But something is better than nothing. Anyways the same product(ksrtc-avatars) is well used by ppl.

On the opening date website got crashed and they stopped ebooking option. After a day or two they reopened it. Initially they opened it for 2 routes. Later they added more routes. Now we have ordinary bus routes also available for booking. They have plans to add more counters and franchises, I hope they will improve it.

Binai, did you missed the Sonali( manjeri-kozhikode)? It was out of service for a long time but now its relaunched.

Another thing is Jayanthi Janatha is now running with a non ac permit and the "A/C" in the a/c airbus sticker is cut. I recently saw the bus running with all the windows open.

Again the new Parasuram today made a huuuge block in Kottakkal due to some technical faults .

I am attaching pictures of 1st Ac bus of Peters in Panathoor-Kottayam ROUTE.
The bus was spotted around 9.20 PM last Thursday at Kaloor stand. The bus has a slave engine on the right side after the front door. Also the rear door is closed and seats are placed above it. I guess it is used as an emergency exit.
This bus is KL 36 B 7300 and the pair is KL 36 B 7400.
Also spotted Angel, Holy Child, another Peters and 2 buses of Cheriyan Motors.
