AFAIK, Jeyanthi Janatha and Parasuram both operates as Super fast permit only - as a permit its equal to Non AC only. Correct me if I am wrong!

Did Parasuram broke down causing problems?

Jayanthi Janatha has a "Fast Passenger" permit, while Parasuram has a Super Fast permit. Both the buses were running as AC buses until a while back. The old Parasuram (i.e., the current Jayanthi Janatha) did have some issues, and during its last few days as Parasuram, it did have some cancellations. AC failure was a common issue it seems - so, I guess this problem is what forced them to run Jayanthi Janatha as non-AC.

Pics of both buses attached:

Yes, they do. 1830/2005 from Ernakulam, and 1945/2120 from Bangalore. Volvo B9R runs at 2035 from Ernakulam and 2145 from Bangalore.

But, for me, these Merc monsters are not real club class when compared against the B9Rs in terms of vehicle NVH, fit and finish and amenities.
Btw, did any one come across the news of Bihar state RTC releasing Mercs in their state, if not, here it goes:

Bihar : Mercedes chariot for Aam Admi - Yahoo! News

@0:50 time they show a volvo(the front logo is visible) and call it a merc, press error!Btw prices are yet to be disclosed and the buses will ply between bihar and jharkhand and within bihar too! good! I am really wondering what the RTC guys in TN are thinking about?

This site looks much easier and simpler than KSRTC & TNSTC sites. Are they operating only Mercs?

They are operating Volvos as well - both B7Rs and B9Rs. But those buses don't seem to be available for reservation. Only the Mercedes Multi-Axles are shown on the website.

The site is simple because they are operating just 4 routes! (Patna/Gaya-Ranchi/TATA). Hence, they managed to put all the destinations as a drop-down list - take the case of the KeSRTC site. Even the APSRTC site is well put - but it is also a treasure hunt when it comes to finding which class of service is on the route.

The BSRTC site is handled by Hermes-IT - the provider is used by quite a few operators down site, including Sharma, SRM, etc.

sir,in the video they say that its a public-private partnership service, so I guess atleast the mercs would be intelligent enough to have got a partial payment for their vehicles. Some sort of contract would be existing between the merc and the procuring agency. Moreover, its just 15 buses, so Bihar should be able to afford it!

Indra Buses of APSRTC built on AL's 12M platform. Body builder name is mentioned as "Neely's Mohindra". Hearing this name first time, that too for a premium bus. Finish is not upto the mark. They could have gone for 12M ACs similar to ABT/ARC buses.

Isn't the driver cabin separated from the passenger saloon? The folding door doesn't go well with the body design - a single piece door, like the ones in ABT, ARC, Volvo et al would've looked better.

Any pics of the interior?
