Might do well in the taxi/tourist trade. I cant think of this as a private vehicle except maybe for people with a very specific need for a vehicle like this.

Looks exactly like a big shoebox with windows and doors cut out and an engine to pull it.

They are yet to experiment with nano. They must be surely thinking of some "new" car based on nano

Looking at the pic, it looks delicate, only time will tell how reliable it will be.

When we can live with a tin box called "OMNI" for all these years. TATA's sure have got a better put together Utility van.

Product looks good, might surely give the bouncing Eeco a tough ride, since TATA products are known for their comfort factor. Moreover the price that would be Unbeatable.

^^
But Omni looks much better than Eeco, I saw few Eeco on Bangalore roads and it is ugly especially with black bumpers. I think it will give tough competition to Eeco or may be it will create its own market just like Ace. Lets wait and watch!!

The Venture would be considerably more expensive than the Eeco. What was shown in the Auto Expo.. the Venture has two things which the Eeco doesn't.. Diesel engine and luxury. And I really liked the interiors.

Great scoop Sparkplug.

Once released the Venture with its diesel engine will prove to be a formidable opponent to the Omni and Eeco. But, I really doubt if those interiors will make it to the production model.

Tata is on a roll lately with a lot of new MPV offerings. Hope these vehicles are safe and well built.

this looks much better than omni or eco and i bet this is going to have a better ride too.. the wheel size also looks quite big atleast bigger than omni or eco. also this is going to be sold in diesel and CNG.. so in short, tata's another win-win offering is under test

The venture will be sold through Tata motors plus Tata Fiat passenger car dealerships from the 4th quarter.

Yes! By look of it the vehicle was almost ready, to an extent that the Tata logo was ripped off from front Grill.. unlike most test vehicles where they cover the logo or don't put it at all.

Sid's pics show the vehicle with great finish, I doubt that would be on actually car after what I saw y'day (unless they didn't clean it after it poured in Pune). Even if they position it above Eeco, it would sell better. I still refer to Eeco as new versa and I think many others do as well.

I saw a lot of these being tested at TM Pimpri plant last month. looked bigger than the Ace.

By the look of it, they looked pretty well built and saw many variants. One top end black was looking good with all the regular top end features like rear wash wipe, rear demister, fog lamps, beige interiors et al. I think it had alloys as well.

All in all, looks like a good competition to Omni, Eeco and the gang...
