Default Pics - CVs being imported into India through Seaports

These used firetrucks have been imported, from Oman, by the Delhi Fire department and that too exclusively for Commonwealth games.

Default (Ford) World Class Abandoned Ambulance

This ambulance was off-loaded from a car carrier around June 2009 & since then lies here neglected & unused. The ambulance is a complete self sustaining mini hospital. Hope it does not end in Rust in piece.. thread in future.

Not exactly a luxury but still has four wheels & crying for some of its space in this world. This forlorn site dumper by BARFORD lying un-used. Dont get me wrong because I am not mad but when I see such 'forgotten' vehicles. I feel like talking to them, asking them about their birthplace, their days of glory & sadly about their present sad state. That's why I religiously visit "rust in pieces.. thread" everyday. Because I believe that every vehicle has soul, all you need to do is 'turn the key'..

Enjoy

Amazing pictures there of some truly unique CVs. I am copying your posts to a new thread in the Commercial Vehicles forum, so that our CV fans don't miss out.

Thanks for sharing.

Slightly OT .
Please MOD Excuse me.

If this ambulance is auctioned then it could be a great CARAVAN.
The base car is ready for caravan.

The cobus is destined to some other port. Its in *transit*.(I cannot mention name of ports due reasons well known)
The ambualnce was offloaded here in June/July 2009 & since then is awaiting re-shipment to its final destination. After some digging I found out that its a donated vehicle & that the receipient country does not need it anymore. So here it lies because its a LHD vehicle (even if its a life saving vehicle).
Talk about stupid bureaucracy.
Imagine having such excellent ambulances at Jaslok/Hinduja.
I dont know if it'll work, but I intend to make the presentation of this vehicle to these hospitals & ask them to check, if they can salvage this ambulance & use it.

Those are some interesting pictures.

Sad to see the state of the F350.

As for the fire Trucks, any idea if they would remain in India after the common wealth games? Also common wealth games happened last year in Pune & I didnt see any such fire trucks then (though that doesnt mean that they were not there).

Not Commonwealth Games mate. I guess this is the first time we are hosting it and it happens once in 4 years.

Sorry my bad it was Common Wealth Youth Games which were held in Pune in 2008 (More Details can be seen Here)

But still I would assume that the safety requirements would be similar if not same

Default Scania haulers & VW Transporter

These three Scania haulers & VW are rotting in a major port. Seems like some engine parts have been removed from one of the Scania truck.
Possible on their way to *rust in pieces.. thread*. Dont know the history of these vehicles.

The VW (seems LHD-check direction of wipers) is in good condition & just a wash will bring her back. I'm surprised that her foglights & horns are not ransacked as yet.

The trucks that you are mentioning to be 'Fire Trucks', they have Halliburton inscribed on the door, Halliburton is an energy/oil exploration company and I have seen these kenworth trucks before at ONGC's Oil Plant. They are not fire trucks, but some sort of equipment related to the oil exploration.

My uncle works for Halliburton, I've got scale models of these trucks
