I would love to have the grey colour with silver stripes. But many members here as well as my own family members suggests that all our buses should look identical with the same colour & design.

Next time make the vendor sign an agreement on say a INR 100 stamp paper exclusively to the effect that 1. They will not display your bus's photos in their product album and 2. In case they offer the same design to any other operator they would be held liable for the same and would have to paint your entire fleet in a new design. I know it will be difficult to implement but the thought of the written agreement alone would be enough to make them think ten times.

Infact next time when you create a new design copyright it. It will be an added expense but compared to the frustration apart from the wasted time and effort it will be money well spent.
We share a very friendly relation with Sisira, so this stamp paper business with them wont work.

Yes, i do feel they should not have atleast displayed our bus pics on their album.

Also, as Binaiks mentioned, anybody on the road can click a pic & copy the design. Sigh!

Pavan Saab, did you get confused somewhere or am i missing something?

The red buses on this page are our old Non-AC buses & the new AC bus is not yet delivered.

Good points that i can tell you are

1) Nice design
2) Volvo type front wheels. looks nice
3) Design is not copied from any maker
Its Prakash's P8000 model & such buses are plentiful in kerela.

Quote:
4) Headlights are well adapted
those are safari headlights!

anyways, very few operators choose this headlight & stick to a normal round light. I like this one more.

Quote:
Bad points as per me

1) The color would have been a bit different
Now that has become our trademark colour. Many liked the colour of the bus, surprisingly you dint.

Quote:
2) Get rid of those rear wheel caps
3) That Monogram in the front looks bad, get rid of it.
Wont it look bad without these?

One more vote for the current colour.

Hmm, not surprisingly, even prakash has our bus' pics!

I think you should be happy on this. The round headlamps are much cheaper than the Safari headlamps - in case one of them get damaged, it would be cheaper for you to replace it if it were round headlamps.
even though the round ones are cheaper, i think the safari ones look far better.

"An A/c bus this is" not justification enough.
You are right!

raj, you did not get that I was pulling your leg??

I would not call a bus which has run less than 1.5 Lakh KM / 3 years "old".

Raj,

I think it would be better to procure a few (maybe 2 or 3) extra AC vent and reading lamp assemblies. In case any of the panels in the bus gets damaged, it would be helpful if a similar design is not available later.

Seats have been finalized. Only things left are-

1) In Bus Entertainment - Speaking to Mr. Dhanesh Varma again (who did our mini bus setup) & waiting for his quotation.

2) AC - We had almost finalized on Thermoking AC but Jingyi's rep called me & once again requested me to have a look at their proposal. Jingyi was offering me a 9.5 ton unit as compared to 11.5 ton of thermoking. But now Jingyi is even ready to offer a 11.5 ton unit like thermoking at the same present rate. As per Jingyi, Royal travels & Ganga travels in kerela have been using their units for past 6 years without any trouble.

Raj...you could have opted for "P8000 BMR Z-ONE" design. Its really a bit different from the current ones.

That is an inter city bus with a full length under storage & costs a whopping Rs. 3 lakhs more, not worth in my opinion. We wont be getting any returns. If we had to spend Rs. 3 lakhs more over here, we would have opted for Irizar's coach.

1. I was meaning to the owners - the Royal Tours, based at Kaloor, Ernakulam, are they the guys your a/c sales man referred to?

2. 3 lakh for luggage space? That is very interesting bit of info. I thought that luggage space was standard on all types of vehicles. What is the justification (in terms of engineering & design) for such whooping price difference? Does it change the body height?

Yes, this is interesting indeed. Even I would like to know more regarding the luggage bin that costs 3 big ones.
