Yes, the body design is different, the height is much more, the luggage space is much more & the interiors are of a different design, more classy, you can say.

Yes, the AC guy was referring to Royal travels, Ganga travels, etc. But we have finalized on Thermoking AC.

Good move. When it comes to long term durability, Chinese products cannot be trusted. Also Thermoking being serviced by TVS, you will have better peace of mind.

Thanks, we were spending more than required amount on seats & AC vents, we decided its not good to skimp on one of the most important part - the AC.

Thanks Raj, what i meant was one of the many clones of your color/design. Is n't there a saying "Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery"?

3) Vectra seats : Anybody with an experience to share about this company? They are relatively new but I had a look at their seats & it looked far better built, had good finishing & was much more comfortable than Harita's seats. But I am not sure about the longevity of their seats & their after sales as such. We would be investing 1.95 lakhs for the seats, so i want to be sure!
Hello Raj,

First of all thanks for all the info that you have provided here.It is very helpful and informative.

How did you go about selecting seats?Can you elaborate a little bit?What are the requirement to install a seat?How do they vary the pitch and all the other aspects.

I am doing a feasibility study on introducing intercity coaches and i need to know how the seats are installed and what are the minimum requirements.I am planning on having a 36 seater with 2X1 configuration.

Who is Mr. Dhanesh Varma? What does he do? Does he own a chopshop for CV's?

What does EDC mean? These engines are 6 cylinder(?) and how many liters?
So these Inline FIP's have electronic governing?

It feels disheartening actually. We had actually gone through the pain for selecting this design with the right colours, spending hours in prakash.

Selecting seats is a fairly simple process. The number of seats that can be installed in a particular chassis is usually fixed by every coach builder. Normally, even the seats are of the same dimensions. You just need to look at the benefits offered, the price & value for money. if you are planning to source seats from outside, you need to be in touch with the coach builder as to when he needs the seats with him in stock, to be installed.

For a 36 seater, you will need to go for a 2x2 option in a Viking chassis, if you are planning a chassis from AL.

@georgekj
EDC stands for Electronic Diesel Control. It's an ECU controlled injection system unlike the Inline FIP system where fuel injection is controlled mechanically.

All HCVs have 6 cylinder engines. I'm not sure of the exact engine capacity but I guess it should be around 6L.Experts please enlighten
