Great DIY steps Randhawa!

The armrest is "Lancia" make and you are right - you seriously would believe this was made for Punto. I got it done in Delhi from Elegant Motors a few months ago and then all the parts costed me approx 2.5k. Add 250 rupees labour to that and I was a very happy chappie! It looks as if it came fitted from the factory such was the workmanship from Elegant. Kudos to them!

Thanks Kapoor, surprised to know that within few months the price went up from 2.5 to 3.3k! Did you got all the parts for 2.5k?

Yes thats exactly what's transpired in the last few months (possibly since March IIRC). I paid a total of 2,800/- including labour.

Even if the parts are out of stock, you should get it within 10 days.

Generally the bracket will not be in stock...They'll order it after we enquire for one. You better order it and because you'll have to wait for sometime befor you get the parts.

Either the dealer hasn't ordered the parts yet or I am just lucky to get the parts within 10 days. Or there is a possibility of fiat not sending just the parts for you as normally the dealer parts order is a big one and small bits are sent along with the big order.

Why don't you try to order from another dealer in your city.

Excellent work Randhawa. This will surely help many a Punto owners.

Bit OT - I am happy that the parts, that too parts that are not your everyday / regular replacement parts, are available without much fuss.

The "Clutch slave cylinder" for my Linea was replaced within 24 hours of it going kaput.

Randhawa: two product codes for diffuser! is either of them needed or both? pls advise

I had been to Tata Fiat workshop in thane (GB road) last weekend and the guy at the shop said he wont give away the parts to me and I will have to get it fixed in the car from the workshop. Should I try buying the spares from some other dealer (to save on the labor cost)

Just use the first part no for the diffuser. But have the second part no in hand too just in case the guy at the counter says its wrong or something. The sticker on the part had booth of them so I wrote.

He can not force you to get it fixed at the workshop nor can he refuse counter sale. Speak to the CSM from Fiat at the T.A.S.S. Just inquire how much would they charge you for the labour. If its more then Rs 200 then try another dealer.

Finally, Last tuesday, I got the armrest installed on my car.

I wasn't so confident of a DIY with the tools I had, so got it done at concorde.
Including fitting charge of Rs600/- at concorde A.S.S, it put me back by approximately Rs4300/-

Below is the link from my ownership thread.
