| Ya, it depends on all the factors that u listed. Moreover, the proper size of box for the subwoofers is also specified on the box. It would generally recemmond different size for different types of enclosuers like sealed/ported/bandpass etc.. Rest guru log are here to help you out. |

| BHPian | I guess it largely depends upon the boot space the owner of the car can give and amount of bass he needs - depending upon these factors one can decide upon the brand of sub looking into the technical specifications offered by the company then we carry on to decide to either use an sealed/ported/bandpass box and also match the amplifier to get the desired output. So with these I like to say each brand has its own place......

| I also have been mulling over this question. On a baleno Vxi, pre-fitted stereo, I would like to fit a powered s/w. However I don't want to tinker with the rear shelf if I can help it. I was thinking of a Sumoku placed in the boot, but how to get the sound into the cabin area?

you dont need to worry about how to get the sound inside the cabin as the bass can travel through the seats etc. my suggestion is that you can try positioning it where you get the best out of your sub. in my car the subs are placed facing the bootlid. i tried different placements but this was the best placement in my case (hyundai Accent CRDI). i dont know about the placement of bass tubes though. BTW what type of sub encl are you talking about and let me know the specs as im planning to install a powered sub in my other car. | |
