Being a DIY guy, instead of ordering the new one made another DIY couple minutes back and the result is satisfactory and well addressing the need. Let me post the outcome and more details tomorrow.

Upgraded only 1 reading lamp (center one) which is more than sufficient to me

1 LED block left out after foot well lamp installation

And a bunch of T10 LEDs

Damaging one LED to get the socket for LED block

Easy to take the socket out

This is how it looks

Soldered the lead

Inserted into the socket

After installing the cover

With regular T10 LED (for comparison)

Bright enough

This is optional. I'm using the 2 way switch to operate the foot well lamp in dual mode.
Mode 1: Operates with the cabin lamp (Door Switch / Cabin lamp switch)
Mode 2: Dedicated power (irrespective of doors open / cabin lamp switched on or off)
Excellet DIY task. Added in my to-do list as well. However, I might skip this switch and use the mode selection from cabin lamp as I am not looking for independent use.

How is the switch holding with double-sided tape ? Is it sturdy or wobbly ? Also, you have installed this switch on passenger side and not on driver side, any specific reasons ? How is the access of this switch from Driver's seat ?

Phew !!! Too many questions.

You know the answer buddy
Obviously that's not sturdy, I'm looking for an alternate solution.

On driver side I already have a switch for Horn and I don't want one more switch sitting along.

Quite easy, bend a little to access the switch.

Great DIY. This will be by project now on next weekend.
One question- Instead of soldering to the cabin lamp, if I extend the wire from LED block that you installed in the cabin lamp to the foot lamps as well will it work?
