A job very well done!

As everybody else has said, your job seems much better than the OEM finish!

Keep it up and all the very best!

Hey Shldn, Great job man! Love the finish. Good enough to become a OEM supplier to Tata motors.

I think this thread should be moved to the "collection of best threads". Its a very well documented project, and the results so far are really awesome.

Hi Guys,

Was out for a couple of days, hence the lack of update. The LCD's now fitted onto the benzel and assembled into the center console. A couple of custom brackets were required for securing it to the console at the bottom, 1 rupee coin for size reference. Most of the original locking tabs were retained, so its a snap fit onto the center console.

Here's a pic taken with a cellphone cam, should give you an idea of how it fits though.

Will follow up with pics of it fitted in the vehicle in a couple of days .

Wow... Now its time to give some life to this touchscreen and see it in action... I hope you have taken in account the taper at which the touchscreen should be placed so that you can see and operate it properly and the sunlight doesnt cause any issue.

okay, here are some in vehicle pics ( finally! )

close up view from front passenger seat,

The LCD's been bench tested to make sure its been assembled back into the benzel properly. The console has a slight upward taper where the lcd is installed and the lcd by itself has a decent viewing angle ( for its class). If needed a slight tilt can be added later on once the setup is working .
