| Hi Guys, I've recently started fabrication on the center console of my dashboard to flush mount a Touchscreen LCD. This is towards a CarPC install and is going to be a headunitless system. The LCD in question is the IRV-070GL. The goal is to get the screen in line with the rest of the dash so that it looks stock and clean. Will try and post pics at each stage for anyone interested in a similar project. ![]() Stock dash. The Indigo/ca dash has provision for a single din head unit. The LCD is going to be installed over this slot making use of the bottom tray. The new console will be made up of 3 pieces fused together and should have enough structural strength for this purpose. The silver surround portion of the center console will be left untouched. ![]() Monitor top cover on console. ![]() Monitor top cover. Paint off the edges has been sanded off. Additionally all the buttons are going to be removed as the design won't fit in with the proposed stock look. The bottom portion is shaped to include the IR sensor mount and the mounting holes for the button PCB. The IR sensor and IR filter cover will be retained in its original position, any necessary adjustments to the monitor if required will be made by the remote. ![]() Outline traced. ![]() Top portion of the benzel cut. ![]() Bottom tray shaped. ![]() Test fit. So now theres a gaping hole in my dashboard & theres no turning back . |

| Thanks Guys ! This is the factory console which came fitted with the vehicle. A new one costs approx 3.5k . @ DerAlte The Touchscreen LCD in question is the IRV-070GL (mentioned in the 1st post) for Rs 11580/- from iRide. Ok more progress pics, ![]() Paint Sanded off bottom tray. ![]() Test fit after a lot of sanding and aligning. Now the 3 pieces have got to be structurally reinforced /joined and all the gaps filled in and sanded smooth. ![]() Test alignment fit, LCD benzel and top portion held in place. ![]() Since the console is curved the best possible compromise is reached for matching the edges of the screen flush with the console. Top edges stick out, which will be sanded down flush. ![]() Slight gap where the top of the LCD benzel meets the console. ![]() Void at the sides of the LCD benzel to be filled. LCD benzel temporaily held in place with superglue, and is going to be epoxied to the top console cover from the underside. |

| BHPian | Hey Shldn, I knew you will do it man....Good work. I bought all the parts from iRide, but due to hectic schedule at office, my project is held in middle. Just temporarily mounted the touchscreen on the Dash, but the carpc is complete, GPS works perfect, too much of wires in the front seat...All the best for your project. --Ranjit |
