Talking Parcel/Speaker Tray

Hey guys,

i had some time off this weekend to decided to change my Accent's real parcel tray.
the orignal was in a bad shape due frequent removals and used to rattle a lot.

so here are the tools used + a 4X1 feet 3/4" MDF board -

the old tray -

the finished tray, the corners and the part which touched the back glass were all tapered for a proper fit. the size is very accurate so it fits in really tight.

and the final fix. i didn't wanna lose the brake light, so did some wood carving -

the tray is further tightened by 2 allen bolts(was looking for T-nuts but didn't get them in noida -

the entire bottom of the tray has two layers of high density dunlop sheets.

it sounds really nice, there is some vibration from the speaker grill. it needs a little adjustment, but it's not noticable.

apologies for the picture quality as it was dark.

are these speakers good? these are GTO936e, Sam any comments?

thanks!!

Bravo SS. Well done. I am sure there must have been a good improvement in the sound, looking at your (pathetic) OE tray.

Yes the GTO936e was a good speaker.

some more pictures i just took in daylight today.
i have a question here.
my HU and amp have an HPF filter (everyone does). do i really need to use it? when it is off, the speakers don't sound very clear at high volumes. maybe the bass destroys them?
also, the HU has 3 options - 50,80,125 and the amp just has on & off. what do they mean?

anyways, the pics -
look from outside -

Interior -

another interior one, side profile -

and a bonus pic, don't you just love the team-bhp sticker?

for the front speakers (6") 80Hz is ok for the rear speakers (6x9) you can even go as low as 50 Hz if you have a sub. if not run the rear speakers full range.
