Pioneer 6850 Lens.

hi,

im having alot of trouble with my HU. It doesn't play cds the way it used to. its about 8 months old iirc.

i need to know how to adjust the lens. i want to try adjusting the lens before i get a new lens. i have read somewhere that there's a screw and there are points on the pcb from where you read the voltage.

if anyone has done this before, please let me know the procedure.

and how much should a lens replacement cost? can it be diyed?

no it cannot be DIYed why not get the HU seviced. Pio has a lot of service centers in India.

hi,

i was searching for it and found thats it is really difficult to do it. you need a scope plus some test cds etc. i would get a new lens installed. do you know how much a lens cost?

an lg service centre guy told me that any lens costs around 100-200 bucks. don't know if its true. what do you say?

pioneer authorized service guys will charge alot. i think it would be better to get it done from outside. they will charge around 1200-1500rs.

Pioneer lens gone kaput in 8 months? Was it new when you purchased it?

there is a pot on the Lense pickup assembly try adjusting it...

Normally I get my pioneer serviced every 8-10 months from a roadside guy. He opens up the top, and cleans lens and internals, as well as brushes off all the dust etc,.
I guess lens cleaning will do.
you don't need a new lens.

it was new. i think im not buying pio anymore.

i tried. it works for a few hours then again it starts to give errors like error 11, 12, 44. even with original new cds.

do you know how much a new lens cost?

i have tried cleaning the lens but it doesn't work. i think im going to sell this piece of junk soon.
