Default Carputer and ICE Installation : Swift

Hey guys. I am building carputer for my Swift.
So far I have got the following stuffs. You can check out the pics.http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post1095879 (Finally Got My Dream Diesel (Swift Vdi).)

Motherboard: Intel D945GCLF
RAM: Transcend DDR2 2 GB 667
HDD: Segate 160 GB SATA (2.5" Lappy HDD)
OS: Windows XP Professional (nlited)
Power supply: SB-100D Automotive Power Supply (iRide)
Enclosure: Quadrant-Fx Enclosure (iRide)
Display: IRV-070SE (iRide)
BSNL EV-DO USB Internet.
USB Bluetooth Dongle:
Name: 27939803gs2.jpg
Views: 3243
Size: 15.7 KB

Stuffs to buy.
USB Wi-Fi Adapter (Buffalo Inc. )
USB GPS Unit.(Any Recommendation)
USB HUB .
Most Importantly USB Sound card. As PCI one wont fit in case. So I have finalized Creative X-Fi. (Creative USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Sound Card - Get more out of your music and movies).

ICE Setup.
Front Compo. : Illusion Audio EL 6.1
Amp for Compo. : JBL GTO 1004
Subwoofer : Ground Zero GZTW 12Mk2
Amp for subwoofer : confused. ? JBL GTO 3501 mono OR Kenwood 8404 ?
Amp Wiring Kit : Ground Zero GZPK10
RCA Cable : Ichibahn ISTS 20
Enclosure : MDF based for SUB
Damping : Noise Kill

Now does rear fill require at all ? Wont it screw up my front soundstage ?
Looking forward for some gyaan on this as well as on carputer if I am missing something.

Thanx.
Nisarg.

Rear fills are not required. It can be added later if required. then single amplifier is sufficient tp power the fronts and subwoofer. wire the setup with dual amplifier in mind.Do you have a microphone? What is the cost of usb creative X-Fi? Dose it have a 2.1 output option? You can also think about a slim dvd. it helps in reloading operating system without disturbing the setup and copying music to hard disk on the road, and playing movies directly.

Hey Gigy. Thanks for the reply.
I dont have microphone currently but soon i will get it. Cost of Creative X-Fi is around 4K. It has 5.1 Output. OS can be reloaded via Flash Drive. but yup slim DVD drive would definately help playing mp3 cds and movies.

I would suggest you look at better sound card as this one has reliability issues. Does not work with centrafuse, crappy bundled software, hibernation issues. heard so from users. Preferably try avoiding usb sound card. it also loads the cpu. in car use 2.1 works best as its music all the time which plays. even i wanted 2.1 but thats not available . i have 2,4,6,8 channel selection only. getting the preouts at the sound processor level is better than varying at the amplifier.

I'd recommend a JBL mono over a Kenwood.
It is good enough to power the sub.

Rear fills are not required IMO as you will be driving.
But if any circumstance than you wont be driving always, you could go in for a set of Illusions to match the front stage and use the fader for the sound from front only.

Hmmm. Read that on many forums. now where to get 2.1 or do I have any other choice ?

@ Abhi . I think i should get the DVC SUB which can be operated at 2 ohm. 400w @ 2 ohm by bridged 2 channels. So MONO amp can be eliminate. and most of the time only I am gonna drive it. So no rear fills.

MapMyIndia has moved to MioMap variant. So if there is PC version of MioMap, getting maps from MapMyIndia will help.

I think this stereo usb audio device from asus {xonar u1} is good for stereo setup. rest the amplifiers should take care.cost 4k. The top rotates for volume control can be a cool feature and mounted in center console.
