Hmm was just wondering, wont the lever from any other maruti car which is still in production fit with some jugad? I mean Wagon R & Estilo is what comes to my mind.

Edit- I agree with Cyclops & I am game for this

We can prepare a list of people who would be interested in getting it. What say?
yes this is a very good idea. lets prepare a list and i will ask SAI Service authorised distributor to order in bulk. its located in nanapeth.
i have also spoken to some spare part dealer shops. even he can get it from mumbai.

@ technocrat.
i was keenly observing wagon R system in the garage. the pull lever for wagon r is a bit deep in the latch well. what we can do is cut it and weld on the altos striker. or else just weld on small rod and attach a half cut washer to it.

Surprisingly enough all the parts are readily available at MASS in Kolkata. If you guys are interested then I could enquire with Machino Techno and I can arrange for a bulk order from them.

This is great.! If the dealer with whom amit is dealing cannot source the parts, we can think of this option as well. Thanks for extending your support..!

i visited one spare parts dealer near Kalewadi. he immediately called his counter part in mumbai and asked him to courier 1 set first. this is because he doesnt know the exact part no. so tomorrow the parts will arrive, will check whether they are correct and immediately order the next bulk. he doesnt know the exact part rates. will come to know when the courier arrives.
till then please keep the list going. i just pray all parts are right. will do a DIY so that we all can keep the MASS hassle and labour off.

I think there is confusion with only one part number isnt it because I have provided the part number for the lever and the cable in one of my earlier posts isnt it?

in the alto parts manual there are 2 parts
82650M79G00 &
82650M79G10
RF308 is for alto and RF408 convention is for VX. but in the manual there is one labeled RF308 and other as LX. now what the hell is LX.

got the parts

but at the double cost

82650M79G00 - is the correct striker part no. 82650M79G10 is wrong.

the dealer in mumbai had scratched off the MRP. the dealer in pune showed me the receipt and charged 40 Rs for courier.

1. striker : Rs90
2. Lever : Rs 90
3. Cable : Rs 150

Total : 330 + 40 = 370.

Going for a DIY right now. will post the pics if i am successful. i think i have to tear off the mat a bit.
