Does Fiat need to buck up before they launch other variants??

I own a linea emotion pack petrol. i was one of the few early takers of the car when it was launched 8 months before. i had high hopes on fiat and tata JV when i bought the car. i was told that the parts are made indigeniously and there are no shortage of spares now (palio debacle). and the service is as good as any other concern. so i bought the car.

first i thought the plastics are only poor. my chrome beadings fell off first. then my linea emotion logo, now my chrome door handles are falling off!!!

Now even after 11 months after the launch i find my authorised service centre ( concorde , ambattur, chennai) saying " the parts have to come from pune", " we have placed order and we are yet to recieve" , " there is a delay in shipping the spares"

i have found out that my service centre dont adequately stock parts of linea and punto. even a few basic parts like ORVM and Door handles, wipers are not readily available.

It has taken them more than 5 months to get a replacement seat for me now.

The little i say about the *** the better.

The mechanics dont even know how to do basic things. They do all things in trial and error basis.

i get a reply still even after 11 months that " sir this is a new mechanism sir, we are trying". " sir, these guys are used to service indicabs and sumos only. it will take time for them to figure out things"

Tata is treating linea and punto owners just like indicab drivers. they dont even call the customer to inform about what service they have done.

and more pathetic is that things cannot be done at service centre level. each time i have had to beg mangesh kodalkar, amit srivastav, aasish bharadwaj for getting my car issues resolved. people at tata dont do things unless it is escalated

They have put deisel engine oil in my petrol car. and worse they have damaged the running board on pretext of changing the seat lever today

( please have a look at my thread - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-drives-initial-ownership-reports/57313-my-fiat-linea-admiration-not-waned-even-after-6-months-9k-kms.html)

And if i think i am the only one suffering i am wrong. i am hearing similar horror stories from other owners too here in chennai.

just one example: my friend binze john (bnz jon) who is also a part of this forum owns a line vocal white and his car is rusting all over and fiat is paying no heed to his request!!!

after seeing all this i have become a frustrated more and more each day.

no!!. i am not writing this in frustration. i am not writing this to create any controversy.

i am writing this as i still see people enthused about the launch of 1.4 t jet,1.6 and 1.9 version

Doesnt fiat need to buck up the ends before launching the variants?. if they cannot provide adequate service even to existing customers what is the use in launching higher variants and making fools out of indian consumer?. can they get away like this else where other than india??. why isnt there any regulatory authority in india who can ensure that these automobile giats to give a proper service to indian automobile customers?. shouldnt these people who cannot give adequate quality of service be ousted from indian automobile industry?. are indian consumers so bad that they should suffer?.

what can a common man do get a proper A.S.S?.

we are still raving about " a wednesday" and what a common man can do . but in reality we cannot do anything other than to suffer and feel sad!!

i have been suffering from the hands of concorde motors chennai ambattur ever since i got my linea.

this is my thread

and you can read what has happened to my car .

First they dont properly wash the car . they did a few minor scratches in my car in first service.

then they wrongly put diesel engine oil in my petrol car.

and now the latest they have damaged the running board of the car on the pretext of changing the seat height adjuster

i feel disguted now for having chosen them as my service centre

have anyone else suffered the same plight from them?. is there anything that team-bhp can do in helping customers who are suffering from such pathetic authorised service centres?

How Intel CPU is made. From Sand to Silicon.

Here I am posting what I had earlier had read on net. Problem was I went in for the highest quality image and those images were upto 5-6 mb in JPEG format.
So now, after quite a bit of time, i.e. some months, I am posting the images and procedure how Core i7 45nm CPU is made.

*@mods: If you feel so, split this post into 2-3 posts.*

Images follows text.

1) Sand. Made up of 25 percent silicon, is, after oxygen, the second most abundant chemical element that's in the earth's crust. Sand, especially quartz, has high percentages of silicon in the form of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and is the base ingredient for semiconductor manufacturing.
Attachment 231848 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231848-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-1.jpg)

2) After procuring raw sand and separating the silicon, the excess material is disposed of and the silicon is purified in multiple steps to finally reach semiconductor manufacturing quality which is called electronic grade silicon. The resulting purity is so great that electronic grade silicon may only have one alien atom for every one billion silicon atoms. After the purification process, the silicon enters the melting phase. In this picture you can see how one big crystal is grown from the purified silicon melt. The resulting mono-crystal is called an ingot.
Attachment 231849 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231849-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-2.jpg)

3) A mono-crystal ingot is produced from electronic grade silicon. One ingot weighs approximately 100 kilograms (or 220 pounds) and has a silicon purity of 99.9999 percent.
Attachment 231850 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231850-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-3.jpg)

4) The ingot is then moved onto the slicing phase where individual silicon discs, called wafers, are sliced thin. Some ingots can stand higher than five feet. Several different diameters of ingots exist depending on the required wafer size. Today, CPUs are commonly made on 300 mm wafers.
Attachment 231851 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231851-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-4.jpg)

5) Once cut, the wafers are polished until they have flawless, mirror-smooth surfaces. Intel doesn't produce its own ingots and wafers, and instead purchases manufacturing-ready wafers from third-party companies. Intel’s advanced 45 nm High-K/Metal Gate process uses wafers with a diameter of 300 mm (or 12-inches). When Intel first began making chips, it printed circuits on 50 mm (2-inches) wafers. These days, Intel uses 300 mm wafers, resulting in decreased costs per chip.
Attachment 231852 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231852-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-5.jpg)

6) The blue liquid, depicted below, is a photo resist finish similar to those used in film for photography. The wafer spins during this step to allow an evenly-distributed coating that's smooth and also very thin.
Attachment 231853 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231853-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-6.jpg)

7) At this stage, the photo-resistant finish is exposed to ultra violet (UV) light. The chemical reaction triggered by the UV light is similar to what happens to film material in a camera the moment you press the shutter button.

Areas of the resist on the wafer that have been exposed to UV light will become soluble. The exposure is done using masks that act like stencils. When used with UV light, masks create the various circuit patterns. The building of a CPU essentially repeats this process over and over until multiple layers are stacked on top of each other.

A lens (middle) reduces the mask's image to a small focal point. The resulting "print" on the wafer is typically four times smaller, linearly, than the mask's pattern.
Attachment 231854 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231854-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-7.jpg)

8) In the picture we have a representation of what a single transistor would appear like if we could see it with the naked eye. A transistor acts as a switch, controlling the flow of electrical current in a computer chip. Intel researchers have developed transistors so small that they claim roughly 30 million of them could fit on the head of a pin.
Attachment 231855 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231855-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-8.jpg)

9) After being exposed to UV light, the exposed blue photo resist areas are completely dissolved by a solvent. This reveals a pattern of photo resist made by the mask. The beginnings of transistors, interconnects, and other electrical contacts begin to grow from this point.
Attachment 231856 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231856-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-9.jpg)

10) The photo resist layer protects wafer material that should not be etched away. Areas that were exposed will be etched away with chemicals.
Attachment 231857 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231857-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-10.jpg)

11) After the etching, the photo resist is removed and the desired shape becomes visible.
Attachment 231858 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231858-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-11.jpg)

12) More photo resist (blue) is applied and then re-exposed to UV light. Exposed photo resist is then washed off again before the next step, which is called ion doping. This is the step where ion particles are exposed to the wafer, allowing the silicon to change its chemical properties in a way that allows the CPU to control the flow of electricity.
Attachment 231859 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231859-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-12.jpg)

13) Through a process called ion implantation (one form of a process called doping) the exposed areas of the silicon wafer are bombarded with ions. Ions are implanted in the silicon wafer to alter the way silicon in these areas conduct electricity. Ions are propelled onto the surface of the wafer at very high velocities. An electrical field accelerates the ions to a speed of over 300,000 km/hour (roughly 185,000 mph)Through a process called ion implantation (one form of a process called doping) the exposed areas of the silicon wafer are bombarded with ions. Attachment 231860 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231860-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-13.jpg)

14) After the ion implantation, the photo resist will be removed and the material that should have been doped (green) now has alien atoms implanted.
Attachment 231861 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231861-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-14.jpg)

15) This transistor is close to being finished. Three holes have been etched into the insulation layer (magenta color) above the transistor. These three holes will be filled with copper, which will make up the connections to other transistors.
Attachment 231862 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231862-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-15.jpg)

16) The wafers are put into a copper sulphate solution at this stage. Copper ions are deposited onto the transistor through a process called electroplating. The copper ions travel from the positive terminal (anode) to the negative terminal (cathode) which is represented by the wafer.
Attachment 231863 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231863-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-16.jpg)

17) The copper ions settle as a thin layer on the wafer surface.
Attachment 231864 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231864-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-17.jpg)

18) The excess material is polished off leaving a very thin layer of copper.
Attachment 231865 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231865-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-18.jpg)

19) Multiple metal layers are created to interconnects (think wires) in between the various transistors. How these connections have to be “wired” is determined by the architecture and design teams that develop the functionality of the respective processor (for example, Intel’s Core i7 processor). While computer chips look extremely flat, they may actually have over 20 layers to form complex circuitry. If you look at a magnified view of a chip, you will see an intricate network of circuit lines and transistors that look like a futuristic, multi-layered highway system.
Attachment 231866 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231866-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-19.jpg)

20) This fraction of a ready wafer is being put through a first functionality test. In this stage test patterns are fed into every single chip and the response from the chip monitored and compared to "the right answer."
Attachment 231867 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231867-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-20.jpg)

21) After tests determine that the wafer has a good yield of functioning processor units, the wafer is cut into pieces (called dies).
Attachment 231871 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231871-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-21.jpg)

22) The dies that responded with the right answer to the test pattern will be put forward for the next step (packaging). Bad dies are discarded. Several years ago, Intel made key chains out of bad CPU dies.
Attachment 231872 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231872-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-22.jpg)

23) This is an individual die, which has been cut out in the previous step (slicing). The die shown here is a die of an Intel Core i7 processor.
Attachment 231873 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231873-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-23.jpg)

24) The substrate, the die, and the heatspreader are put together to form a completed processor. The green substrate builds the electrical and mechanical interface for the processor to interact with the rest of the PC system. The silver heatspreader is a thermal interface where a cooling solution will be applied. This will keep the processor cool during operation.
Attachment 231874 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231874-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-24.jpg)

25) A microprocessor is the most complex manufactured product on earth. In fact, it takes hundreds of steps and only the most important ones have been visualized in this picture story. ( applicable for two images below )
Attachment 231875 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231875-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-25.jpg)
Attachment 231876 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231876-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-25a.jpg)

26) During this final test the processors will be tested for their key characteristics (among the tested characteristics are power dissipation and maximum frequency).
Attachment 231877 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231877-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-26.jpg)

27) Based on the test result of class testing processors with the same capabilities are put into the same transporting trays. This process is called "binning," a process with which many Tom's Hardware readers will be familiar. Binning determines the maximum operating frequency of a processor, and batches are divided and sold according to stable specifications.
Attachment 231878 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231878-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-27.jpg)

28) The manufactured and tested processors (again Intel Core i7 processor is shown here) either go to system manufacturers in trays or into retail stores in a box.
Attachment 231879 (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/gadgets-computers-software/231879-how-intel-cpu-made-sand-silicon-28.jpg)

Attachment 231853

Attachment 231855

9) After being exposed to UV light, the exposed blue photo resist areas are completely dissolved by a solvent. This reveals a pattern of photo resist made by the mask. The beginnings of transistors, interconnects, and other electrical contacts begin to grow from this point.
Attachment 231856

10) The photo resist layer protects wafer material that should not be etched away. Areas that were exposed will be etched away with chemicals.
Attachment 231857

11) After the etching, the photo resist is removed and the desired shape becomes visible.
Attachment 231858

12) More photo resist (blue) is applied and then re-exposed to UV light. Exposed photo resist is then washed off again before the next step, which is called ion doping. This is the step where ion particles are exposed to the wafer, allowing the silicon to change its chemical properties in a way that allows the CPU to control the flow of electricity.
Attachment 231859

13) Through a process called ion implantation (one form of a process called doping) the exposed areas of the silicon wafer are bombarded with ions. Ions are implanted in the silicon wafer to alter the way silicon in these areas conduct electricity. Ions are propelled onto the surface of the wafer at very high velocities. An electrical field accelerates the ions to a speed of over 300,000 km/hour (roughly 185,000 mph)Through a process called ion implantation (one form of a process called doping) the exposed areas of the silicon wafer are bombarded with ions.
14) After the ion implantation, the photo resist will be removed and the material that should have been doped (green) now has alien atoms implanted.

15) This transistor is close to being finished. Three holes have been etched into the insulation layer (magenta color) above the transistor. These three holes will be filled with copper, which will make up the connections to other transistors.
Attachment 231862

16) The wafers are put into a copper sulphate solution at this stage. Copper ions are deposited onto the transistor through a process called electroplating. The copper ions travel from the positive terminal (anode) to the negative terminal (cathode) which is represented by the wafer.
Attachment 231863

17) The copper ions settle as a thin layer on the wafer surface.
Attachment 231864

18) The excess material is polished off leaving a very thin layer of copper.

Attachment 231866

20) This fraction of a ready wafer is being put through a first functionality test. In this stage test patterns are fed into every single chip and the response from the chip monitored and compared to "the right answer."
Attachment 231867

21) After tests determine that the wafer has a good yield of functioning processor units, the wafer is cut into pieces (called dies).
Attachment 231871

22) The dies that responded with the right answer to the test pattern will be put forward for the next step (packaging). Bad dies are discarded. Several years ago, Intel made key chains out of bad CPU dies.
Attachment 231872

24) The substrate, the die, and the heatspreader are put together to form a completed processor. The green substrate builds the electrical and mechanical interface for the processor to interact with the rest of the PC system. The silver heatspreader is a thermal interface where a cooling solution will be applied. This will keep the processor cool during operation.

25) A microprocessor is the most complex manufactured product on earth. In fact, it takes hundreds of steps and only the most important ones have been visualized in this picture story. ( applicable for two images below )

26) During this final test the processors will be tested for their key characteristics (among the tested characteristics are power dissipation and maximum frequency).
Attachment 231877

27) Based on the test result of class testing processors with the same capabilities are put into the same transporting trays. This process is called "binning," a process with which many Tom's Hardware readers will be familiar. Binning determines the maximum operating frequency of a processor, and batches are divided and sold according to stable specifications.

28) The manufactured and tested processors (again Intel Core i7 processor is shown here) either go to system manufacturers in trays or into retail stores in a box.

Things to know before reading this thread:
I am not an expert driver. My total driving experience before this car buy will be around 1000 kms. (driven cars like M800,swift,i10)
I am not an expert like sidindica in posting threads
This is my first car

*Initial Survey*:
I thought i should buy my first car by april in january. Started surveying about cars. First i joined Orkut community about cars. From that i came to know about Team-Bhp.After that there was no need to open google to find any info about cars.I spent 3 hours on an average per day to read all latest threads. While i was so busy in deciding which car to buy,a thread came
Navratna:The definitive comparision of B segment petrol hatchbacks (1.2, 1.3, 1.4) . what can i say about this thread.excellent reviews by sid.I bought a car magazine which had hatch comparision. This thread was way ahead than the magazine comparision. This thread made me to decide which car i should by - "i20" clap:

*Requirements*:
Petrol - Since my Annual running will be around 10 to 12 thousand Km's
Hatch Back - It's my first car,so i think hatch is good to start
Color: Red (dont ask me why )
Budget: Around 5 lackhs.Could stretch a little bit upto 5.5L.

Below is my experience on different cars which i considered satisfying above conditions

Swift: Actually i thought to own Swift ever since i drove my friends car in january. After initial surveys through net. I thought this is the car which fits perfect to me.So went to Varun motors,Kukatpally. Sales person said it would take 1 to two months. So i just took the contact details and came back. Then i read some threads saying that swift will soon get phased out.So i thought let me wait. after waiting for almost two three weeks again i went to varun motors ,this time he said the waiting peroid will be 3 months(my choice was only Sunlight Copper). Now i went to Mithra agencies himayath nagar.Sales person offered me that he can get it in one month. But my friend suggested to just stick with varun. So i went to varun motors ,KBR park.Got same answer,2 to 3 months.. (Meanwhile much waiting punto was launched.so i thought lemme see intial reports). I was in no hurry to buy the car.The only reaason why i didn't book swift was that it may phase out and will come with k-series engine.

Ritz:Everytime i went to see different maruti showrooms for swift one common thing is sales person offering me to buy Ritz.First of all I didn't like the speedometer and tachometer design more than the rear design. To me sppedometer appeared smaller than M800. So didn't took even test drive. To me design is more important than to drive

Punto: First of all i have no reason why i haven't taken this. There are some minor reasons.Personally i didn't like red punto .Why do these showrooms persons provide only diesel cars for test drives. There was no petrol car. I saw the diesel car. Plastics looked cheap to me.

i20 - Initially i thought this is way ahead of my budget. So didn't even considered it. But after reading some intial dribing reports,I just went lo Lakshmi hyundai,Kukatpalli to see the car.But there was no car for demo.Later went to Talwar, had car to see. After sitting inside,i just thought this is the car.Interiors were amazing.Even the basic model magna has more features than swift vxi(like integrated mp3).Enquired if there is a petrol car to test drive. Same answer as punto, had diesel car for test drive.Heard a lot that it is little bit under powered. But as this is my first car and i am not an expert driver.I thought i20 will be fine to me.

i10 - i thought it is little bit small and thought better go for i20 even though both had same

same engine.I thought spending 1L more is worth. So after reading lot of threads one fine day i thought i20 is the car i should go for.

*Booking Experience*:
Gave a call to sales person(Krishnam Raju) of Talwar Hyundai,Banjara hills.I was told that i will get car in a month. As I am in no hurry, i agreed and booked the car on 8th August. Paid 20k in advance.Even though i know that there will no offers on i20(after reading all i20 threads),i have just enquired sales person if they are providing any offers on i20. Got the same answer - No offers for i20. Just got basic things like floor mats, mud flaps, Teflon coating.
Just called to Krishna after 2 weeks to know about the status.car was not yet alloted.Again called after one week to know the status.Good news,Car got alloted and will be belivered on Saturday(5th eptember). Called my cousin to come on saturday. But my cousin informed that Saturday is not good to but (Some Pitr paksha starts from 5th September'09 and lasts for a fortnight till 18th September'09). Called Krishnam raju again if it is possible to take before
4th.The answer is yes.He said he will arrange by 2nd september.

After booking ,i thought i would apply for car loan on my own.
Loan amount 2 lakhs.Applied for hdfc and sbi.As expected i got approved for hdfc within 2 days, but i didn't get any call from sbi even after 2 weeks.I got a call from sbi on 2nd september ,the day i was taking my car ROI - 11%. Time Period 3 years.there was only 100 rs difference between sbi and hdfc.So i just went for hdfc. I got insurance quoted 12k, 2000 rs less than showroom quote. So went for HDFC insurance.Later i heard that hdfc is not good for motor insurance.May be i will change it next year.

there was one more struggle running along with this car selection. My membership approval. I have tried 4 times :Frustrati. At last it got approved.
Thanks to all i20 owners for their valuable inputs.
Till now i have not done any modifications.Present odo reading 1800Kms. Will post my driving experience soon.

Image: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/iipcache/135174.jpg

The DUREX Ride for SAFETY, 09 shall take place on Sunday, the 29th of November, 2009 MUMBAI. The Rally will be flagged off from Nariman Point and will be a formation convoy upto Bandra Bandstand.

Organized by Mr. Vijay D Jain, who is a prolific biker, an award winning national level motorcycle stunt champion and an active face in the motorsport scenario in India, the Aids Awareness Bike Rally is where concerned motorcycle and car enthusiasts will congregate to contribute to a social cause of a high order. Vijay D Jain has won a number of national level events, and is the founder of WheelieBoy Racing, a young, dynamic and successful racing unit in the country.

Our Cause Ambassador for this event is a lady who cannot be described in words. Deepa Malik, a dynamic lady with waist-below paralysis has voluntarily involved herself in this ride. Deepa Malik, to the unintroduced, is a Limca Record holder and has made invaluable contributions to national motorsport. Deepa Malik has been working hard for the last 10 years for the improvement of facilities for Aids affected children. She had volunteered for the event last year too, but the ride was called off owing to the unfortunate terrorist attacks in Mumbai. With the Aids Awareness Bike Rally, Deepa will come forth to highlight her cause for promotion of disabled motorcycle and car enthusiasts, also supplementing Aids affected people and highlighting automotive safety in the country. It is heartening to see that despite her sever physical disability, she will ride at the forefront, on her specially designed motorcycle through the entire course of the rally.
OUR SPECIAL GUEST OF HONOR- ACTRESS JUHI CHAWLA

The Event :
The DUREX Aids Awareness Bike Rally is expected to host approximately 250 enthusiastic riders from Mumbai and Pune. The riders will represent various motorcycling clubs in both the cities, and will ride in absolute formation at all times. The Mumbai Traffic Police has been kind enough to not just provide permission, but also grant us a special team of Patrol Motorcycle Marshals, who will also voluntarily maintain discipline and order amongst the participants.

Note- 1) Will upload the registration form in couple of days.
2) I need some volunteers to handle registration counter, celebrities, lineup vehicles etc.
3) If any one willing to be a volunteer pls shoot a mail with your name/cell no. so that I can talk to you in person.
4) Registration will be on the spot.
5) T-shirts will be give to the riders (only till stock last).

I would like to thank Durex (title sponsor). B S Motoring (magazine patner), Big 92.7 fm (radio partner) Deepa Malik (for helping me through out the event, Last but not the least Mumbai Traffic Police for giving the permission to organize the ride.

The Minister of Finance has decreed that we are to visit Kanyakumari during our visit to India in December.

I'm considering driving from Cochin to Kanayakumari in the morning and then flying from Trivandrum to Chennai in the evening.

Would I have enough time to see the sights in kanyakumari? How long would the drive take ? (Hired car and driver).Road conditions?

Would I better off flying from Cochin to Trivandrum, driving to Kanyakumari and back and then flying to Chennai?

LA MARQUE — Police on Friday identified a Lufkin man who accidentally drove a $2 million Bugatti Veyron, a rare automobile that is perhaps the world’s fastest, into a saltwater lagoon.

Andy Lee House, 34, owner of Performance Auto Sales, told The Daily News on Wednesday that a low-flying pelican distracted him, causing him to jerk the steering wheel a bit — and he then dropped his cell phone.

*WORLDS FASTEST ROLLS ROYCE!!!.*

In tuning-studio Joe's Street Rod Shop they assemble the fastest in the world Rolls Royce. Previously, it was the usual Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow models in 1970, and now his power is 1350 horsepower. Inside the fastest Rolls Royce you'll find a leather shop, 4-screen TV , 9.3 liter engine V8. Experts argue that in order to assemble such a vehicle requires approximately $ 318,000.

Rolls Royce's 'Ghost' ready to haunt Indian roads

NEW DELHI: After 'Phantom', Rolls Royce is ready to drive its most technologically advanced car 'Ghost' into India and hoped that at least 45 people with crores in disposable income would be charmed by the vehicle's simplistic design.

The company today previewed Ghost, the super luxury sedan with a whisper-quiet engine and a price tag of Rs 2.5 crore, in the country and expects the first delivery to happen in quarter one of next year. The 6.6 L twin-turbo car is charged with a V12 engine.

"We expect to sell 75 units in 2010 in India, of which 'Ghost' will comprise 50-60 units," Roll Royce Regional Director Asia Pacific Colin Kelly told reporters here.

Last year, the company had sold about 15 units in the country, comprising cars from the 'Phantom' family.

He said the company might witness a slowdown in its global sales this year because of the global recession. The company had globally sold 1,212 units of its cars last year.

This year, the company is looking to more than double its global sales. "We are looking for sales of 2,500 units globally in 2010, of which two-third is expected to come from the yet to be launched 'Ghost'," Rolls Royce General Manager (South and East Asia Pacific) Brenda Pek said.

She added that in India the company expects to sell 14-16 units this year and increase it to 75 units next year.

"Everybody is keeping an eye on India. India is a key market for us. Last year, we added our second dealership in Delhi and if demand increased we will expand more," Brenda said.

Rolls Royce has already received 25 bookings for the 'Ghost.'

To keep pace with the launch of 'Ghost', the BMW group company is also increasing its global headcount by adding 200 more to its staff this year.

"Globally, we have an employee strength of 700 and we are increasing this to 900 by end of this year, mainly to cater to the anticipated demand of the Ghost," Brenda said.

The UK-based company's global manufacturing facility is at Goodwood in Britain, where cars are hand-built by engineers.

I've been seeing this show on VH1 almost everynight or whenever I switch to VH1 I usually see it playing.

It's an amazing show!!!!

Is this new or a really old show playing reruns?

The show is hosted by the good looking lady that hosts Overhaulin.

Man those cars are bling bling and the dyno challenge is just insane. An infiniti G35 clocked 709bhp on a chasis dyno.

Insane audio setups and just crazy customization to every possible car.

There's also a drift challenge as well.

It's basically Hot import night shows across the united states and they cover the entire show.

lots of other eye candy as well including a Miss Hot Import Night or Miss HIN.:D

Hi,

I drive a Verna. Lately I have noticed that once my car is warmed up (Needle in ambient range) and if I switch off the engine following the mandatory idling for a minute and switch on again I see that my engine is lot more smoother and has better response. This I do when I am waiting at a signal. Is this normal? or is there something wrong with my oil pump??

Help1please:
