But once you get addicted to time shift, its impossible to watch normal tv. you have to experience the pleasure of watching any program you like at any time without bothering about recording and blah blah

| OT: I use the Wifi (wifi.in) wimax BB connection which has unlimited plans for just 700/pm at 512kbps and 900 for 1mbps. I never had a downtime or speed problem with them and once there was a power problem at the tower and they rectified within hours. couple of -ve's: 1) They need power supply for the receiver to work at terrace (not 100% wireless it is wimax of course) 2) No online payment, call them to drop at your place to pickup cash/cheque of payment at your convenience. Overall I'm satisfied and using for almost an year now. |

Which city are you located in? your profile says U.S. Also how is the signal quality in bad weather? Wimax works on line of sight AFAIK, so my guess would be signal quality (And hence bit rate) drops during rains - not that it matters much if you don't have UPS/inverter because the link wont work once there is a power cut (which invariably happen in most cities during rains)

| I shifted my home a month back. Airtel has not been able to shift the broadband connection yet and, their customer service is a joke. I got frustrated today and told them to cancel the connection, sent an email to the nodal officer, sent an email to airtel presence and tweeted this too. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | So it starts again. My FU limit has again been reduced to 15GB I am on the same 1500/month plan (512kbps) which gives me 25GB 1199 gives me 10GB at 2mbps If I go for 1299 BB + 300 for IPTV, its 2mbps 30GB. So fed up with their frequent change of FU limit, I decided to go to 1599/month. And guess what, I was told my connection would have to be disconnected for one month! I think the only recourse now is to disconnect my connection and say goodbye to Airtel Fraudband! |

![]() First return all of their equipment (modem, phone instrument), then ask them for disconnection otherwise they'll disconnect the line, never turn up for collection of accessories and keep sending bills till one goes to their office in Okhla (for Delhi subscribers) to return the instrument/modem. I've MTNL unlimited connection and airtel as a backup.

This translates into --- Airtel has no obligation to repair your faulty Landline instrument or your modem/IPTV box. You PAY for the equipment when you apply for a new connection & that too has a warranty cover of a year. Whatever happens thereafter, the equipment is tied to you & they will not recover it by any means. Only line disconnection will take place & you are free to use the modem etc with MTNL settings (user ID, password etc.). MTNL has 10GB FUP on all new "full unlimited" plans. If you download more than a limit, you receive a call & officers will visit to confirm that you are not using it as Cyber Cafe. Moreover, their IP keeps changing frequently after the FUP quota, interrupting downloads as router has to again resolve the address.

| Senior - BHPian | Quite surprisingly, I am having a very good experience with Airtel. I have an Airtel brodband in my residence & they have been giving me great service with good support till now. My office had an MTNL line which was pathetic & very slow. So I decided to shift to Airtel consideing my good experiences. The goods - 1) I placed a request online. Within 2 hours, I got a call from them. they explained me the plan details & informed me that I will have to pay Rs. 250/- as installation charges & also buy my own modem as Airtel does not provide a modem. I was fine with it. I was told that I will get a call within 72 hours & then within 7 days, the installation will be done. 2) The Airtel engineer came to my office the next day itself, instead of calling me. He explained the plans & filled the form. He also told me that since the connection is in my company's name, I would get the modem for free, I can buy a wireless router by paying extra. Also, installation charge is NIL! 3) The next day the Airtel guys came to my place to do the connection. Please note that I was initially informed that all this would happen within 10 days but this was happening within 2 days. Now, instead of a normal modem, they gave me a wireless modem for free. 4) After the whole installation, they connected me to the helpline number where the executive confirmed my details, explained the plan, billing details, helpline number, payment modes, account details, etc. & also enquired whether they had taken any money from me... 5) In my residence, I have had very few issues with the line, but whenever I have had one, it has been solved under 4 hours. Thats their policy. So all in all, I am happy as the installation was free for me (as against Rs. 250/-) & also I was given a wireless modem by Airtel (as against my own modem). I am getting 4 Mbps speed till 10GB for Rs. 1099/- (without taxes). The bad - 1) The installer came very late & I had to wait till 8 pm with him! | I was using Airtel in Bangalore with a 2MBps plan. Service was great. Problem came during disconnection when I informed them, they messed up deactivating my connection and instead started sending me bills for two months for full amount. I made it a practice not to call them ever and keep all communication via mails. Including the disconnection notice. So finally they relented and accepted the correct payment from me and declared NO dues. My advice, mail all your queries to 121@airtel.in. They generally reply within 24hrs. |

Guess what, nobody has a clue what to do. A simple request of plan change from 1499 plan to turbo 1399+299(IPTV) will take months. I get an SMS saying it will be done by April 13th So till then I pay 1499 for 512kbps and no TV. This is worse than BSNL I think!
