10secs .. I got a O2 XDA II mini .... Camera startup takes about 3 secs... and.. click delivers in 1.5secs. (Pictures are bad though)

Battery... not so bad actually!... 1 day is.. never an issue... even after watching a complete divX movie .

Try some application like Xcpuscaler ... might help with battery life.

OH boy Steeroid, My eyes will bless you. I found i needed the largest text size. now if they could just make it bit larger i'll really be happy. Remember I have been using computers since 1978 and from 1980 today my average daily use if about 8 hrs. I did not think I needed glasses till I got my O2 as I could read the TOI in the morning quite easily.

battery life is not such a big issue now that i am aware of it. the first day it was crazy by midnight i was itching to find a USB port.

the camera takes 9-10 secs to boot and 3 secs for a photo. I have timed it again and again. wonder if the next firmware fix will help.

@navin, you have to do upgrade to latest latest firmware. have read in many places that firmware update fixes a lot of bugs and improves speeds slightly too.

I think this is a new patch from XDA for Atom. They say it fixes the camera issues.

Hope this helped you.

man 38 k ...thats a lot ...ok its relative to person....but i think i should not spend more than 10k(this figure will increase in coming days ) on a mobile ...happy with nokia 6600 ,it survived a 120 kmph drop from my jacket and still going strong ....

coming back ,i like sumthing to jot down info instantly on a notepad like atom...but spending 38k is too much ....ok i know it can do more things but still.....
did u go through forums and complete reviews (from actual users ) before purchasing ?

You still see it as a phone.... 38k for a phone!... no way... (I thought the same way)....
You got to use these devices to know what they are capable of!

Yup...it does pretty much everything except brew your coffee. It might even manage to do that if your coffee-maker is WiFi enabled (why not? we have wifi enabled digital cameras now).

Guys would u beleive that O2 has released two ROM updates till date for Atom within a span of three months. That shows that they launched it in hurry and working on fixing the bugs. Inspite of two updates the products still lags. Navin, I guess u have sucessfully updated the Atom with the latest updates. How do u feel it now.

It is a lot better after than 20060217 ROM update. This update is nor formally released on the O2 site but our residetn PDA/XDA Guru (read as Steeroid) got me this update and wow it really helped. Lots of tweaks. I have only 3 issues with the O2 now.

1. SMS still requires 2 hands v/s 1 on my Mokia 6230. I use Graffitti.
2. Camera start upand picture taking is awful slow
3. It still hangs sometimes esp with uses SMS Plus and stuff like that.

Not really. I posted my needs on this thread (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadget...-booom-26.html) and Devarshi84 quickly ran down the options and the O2 won be default (the Nokia N80 and Sansung 860 were not out and the SE 990 was to bulky and heavy).

My needs
2MP camera, Wifi, MMS, keybaord or pen entry, and weight under 150gms.
