Default Quick fix for your Mobile Scroller/joystick

Ok first off let me say I have to thank RTECH for this
A couple of days ago I found that the side scroller on my P910i was acting up and mentioned this to rtech.
He said that he was having similar problems with his K710i ( is this a SE thing.. I wonder)
instead of going to the service centre and getting ripped off, he said that he had put a drop of WD40(seems to be more than 40 uses for the bloody thing ) on the joystick and it worked fine.

So, this morning I bit the bullet and decided to do the same for my P910i.

Took an old otrovin bottle and sprayed WD40 into it. Then took the dropper and VERY GINGERLY put a couple of drops of it in the area around the scroller and PRAYED LIKE HELL.

Im VERY HAPPY to say it WORKS LIKE A DREAM!!!

Please people, if your going to try this DO NOT BLAME ME if you guys are too lazy to use a dropper and decide to directly spray WD40 into your phone!!

Here's hopeing more BHPians are tempted to give their home fixe's here...
ciao

very interesting find. thanks will try it out on my k700i.
wat i used to do before is open up phone and remove all dust frm around and under teh joystick, but that really dosent help now either.

p.s yes it is a problem with many SE phones, joystick refuses to work sometimes.

Well used to get this thing called ZORRIC PLUS.. think it was a local ripoff of WD40, not really found a worthy replacement for it so far... anyone out there got anything better?

Acting up how? Was it just stuck / sticky / grindy? Could it just have been dirt and pocket lint in there that the WD40 dislodged?
I would try spraying it with compressed air before the WD40 trick though...
