| Hey Jaggu, I agree its an excellent deal if one compares all the US seller prices. I was not too lucky today, otherwise I would have saved around 2000 bucks just like that. The shop guy calculated my total keeping 18-55 non-VR lens in his mind. After almost 20 mts of bargaining, checking the kit, test snaps etc. somehow he came to notice some code they scribble on the pack. Infact, its rare your lucky star continues for the whole week. Yesterday I had to pick up books and uniforms for my Montessory-I boy. The billing guy made a mistake and we got an extra pair of uniform FREE ! I would have returned it, but we found it only after reaching home. |

| Senior - BHPian | That sounds like a very good deal. But I would be really really careful while buying stuff from those places. But I hope that you've got a good deal and not a refurbished model. |

| Senior - BHPian | Beloved Photophiles... I need a holster type WATERPROOF baggie for my canon. any suggestions. Canon EOS + 18-55 lens or 55-250. Product Comparison - Yahoo! Shopping Already have a nice carry bag for the full lot(lenses etc etc) but I want something that will let me be mobile when I dont need the full kit. Whats available locally in bangy.. where? |

| Senior - BHPian | Why holster? If not particular about holsters then go for a slingshot, the lowepro one's comes with a waterproof cover and much easier to carry around. |

| Senior - BHPian | Primarily because I wanted a slightly cheaper second bag (1-1.5k), waterproof being the key requirement. Will look into the slingshot, Thanks! Last edited by s0uljah : 22nd May 2009 at 00:59. |

| Price of the D60 with the standard lens has dropped to £270 in the UK. If you are contemplating buying then wait till similar price cuts filter into your local market. |

Naresh (in Bangy) got me a Kata H-14. It holds my 40D with BG2EN and 17-55 attached, and can carry a 70-300/4-5.6 or 85/1.8 + 28/1.8 lenses stacked plus a 420/430 flash, batteries, blower, memory cards and cloth. Main pocket: 40D with BG2EN and 17-55/2.8 and 4 spare AA batteries for flash in a battery holder that is provided with the case. The battery holder has room for 2 SD RAM cards but since my camera uses compact flash this is not used. Under the camera I store the blower and cloth and in a small velcro pocket I store a PCMCIA card reader and compactflash cards. left pocket: 70-300/4-5.6 or 28/1.8+85/1.8 right pocket: 420/430 flash + 2 spare BP batteries outside pocket: Canon 40D manual, ipod and ipod (Cross roads HR2) headphones in case made using the 40D lens cover mated to lens cover from 17-55/2.8. If you got a bigger camera (I would today) get the H16 instead. If you dont need to carry a flash or accessories you could make do with th H-12 or even the Shutter-M if your camera is small enough (450D/1000D for example) or if you are willing to use a chest holster the T-212/214.

Is there any method to recognize the refurbished model ? Will the refurbished model come without a single scratch/wear and tear signs somewhere on the body or buttons ?

| Its GF-15 at Sukh Sagar Mall. Dont refer my name or details, because I have already squeezed the guy to the maximum whenever I bought something there, so he might try to compensate on you ! ![]() |

| In the D60 menu there is an option to set the serial number of the pictures taken to 'serial'-set the same and take a picture on a formatted SD card-the serial number on the picture will show the number of body clicks that the camera body has been subjected to. Am not sure if the counter for the same can be initialized. Also there is a difference between 'refurbished' and 'demo' units. |

| The rumour about the production stop has been doing the rounds since last week, but there are no actual replacement announced for the D60, the D5000 is a much bigger and more expensive camera. D60 is one of the 10 best selling camera's and it would be foolhardy on Nikons part to discontinue the same. But then Nikon is know for making some rash decisions, the D300 also seems to be absent from the official website! |
