X2 Tl50 is a dual-core processor. Meaning it has two processing cores on one die. Even TL50 consumes 31watts. Its clocked at 1.6ghz and has 2x256kb l2 cache. intel t2060 is a first gen dual-core cpu. Intel released first gen dual-cores to enter dual-cores before amd. they can be termed as half-realized core2duo's. runs on 65nm process and has 1mb of l2cache. It is clocked at 1.6ghz. Has a fsb of 533mhz. It can be called a dual-core celeron cpu. Both have Integrated memory controllers which intel is installing in the successor to Core2DUo Yonah cpu's. amd uses power now while intel uses speedstep (similar) amd is based on 90nm manufacturing process while intel is 65nm (intel wins) amd's are 64-bit while only core2duo's are 64-bit in mobile cpu's TL50 is better than MK36 is better than T2060.

| Senior - BHPian | Thnx ppl. So the bottom line is one can go for AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual Core Mobile Technology TL-50 or TL-52 or higher if budget does not permits Core Duo processor.

| Senior - BHPian | turion X2 is the best alternative if Core2Duo's are out of reach. Remember though that turions x2's can never match core2duo's performance or core duo's for that matter. Its just the t2060 is crippled that amd takes the cake. turion x2 is good otherwise for everyday computing. best of luck.

A couple of things: 1. The macbook 2 ghz comes with only 1 gb ram 2. It comes only with a 80gb hdd 3. You should mention dvd DUAL-LAYER WRITER. That's the best part of the macbook slot drive. 4. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the macbook only has a vga cam, not a 1.3 mp cam. And yes, I happen to be the proud owner of a macbook... in the same ipod 'gay' white colour ![]() Plus i've set-up my my home and office with a airport extreme and airport express base station respectively. Where did you buy your macbook from anyway?

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | I am looking to purchase a notebook after 4 years. My IBM Thinkpad G40 just died. After carrying this 4 Kg monster all these years, I want something different, within 2.5 Kg. I want it really small and light, with a big and fast hard drive. The optical drive is optional. The budget is around 75K. Not really brand loyal, but need 3 year warranty with good A.S.S coverage. Is there something out there? Anything that can run Vista comfortably may be too expensive. So XP Pro is fine. Don't suggest that 4.5 inch screen Lilliput from Sony either.

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Anything from the Dell stable okay? I you buy from India the 1505 costs 40K. Now upgrade the HDD to 7200rpm 120GB, make ran as 2GB, and get a better screen and it will be 60K. Buy the same setup in US with deal codes it will be 1000$. You can buy extended warranty for 100$ extra.

| Senior - BHPian | get dell xps series or Toshiba satellite series...they will have 3-yrs warranty on both of them.... and major difference between the laptops is due to processor and memory, hdd sizes and speeds....with which the price difference comes.... | Team-BHP Support ![]() | Satellite series is way too expensive for not much features. Dell is fine. But isn't XPS 1210 better and lighter than Inspiron 1501? I can even get 7200rpm drive there. Any 1210 user here? In notebooks with wide display, the size still refers to diagonal distance, right? Somebody was telling it might refer to horizontal width, that can get confusing.

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Diagonal distance it is. I bought one a year back, so things have moved on. With dell what I like is that you can customize the RAM/HDD/Graphics. Do not get fooled into upgrading the sound card. Its more or less a software upgrade.
