Speaker Wires and RCA for Home Theatre

Hi Guys,

Can anyone let me know which are the good brands for speaker & RCA wires in Mumbai for a high end home theatre set up.

I am planning to use the following stuff :

For Hall
Amp - Onkyo TXSR 803G or NAD T763 (1lac and 86k)
Speakers - B & W M1 with PSB 5i Sub & EVID 2 pairs with PSB 5i sub (62k+27.5k+28k/pr)
DVD Player - Denon - DV1920 or Onkyo - DV502 (32k and 23.5k)


Room

Amp - not decided (need good pro logic amp in 30k budget)
Speakers - Anthony Gello Ti Adiva SS +PSB 5i Sub (73k+27.5k)
DVD Player - Pioneer (6.5k)

Cables - Have been suggested by Lakozy insists only on Supra

Speaker Cable - Supra 1.6 (Rs 125/mtr)
"1.6 Tin(Rs 250/mtr)

Video Cable - Supra RGB - AV3 - (Rs550/mtr)
MIT - RG59 (Rs275/mtr)

Audio Cable - Sommer - Club Series - (Rs125/mtr)
Optical Cable - Supra Toslink - Rs2400 for 1mtr
Interconnects - Sommer(German) - Rs1500/pr
RCA Pins - Neutrix - Rs125/pc

What I want help/advice with is that are the above brands models good and are the prices OK. Can anyone help me with better pricing in Mumbai. I need to purchase approx 300 mtrs of Speaker & Video Wire and dont want to go overboard. Lakozy is insisting on Supra Tin.

Wires need to be bought by Tuesday, equipment we have time of approx a month but will place order shortly.

HI Viper,
There are many good wires available at that price and often lower. Lakozy would insist on Supra because he's the distributor. That said, Supra makes good wires.
You can also buy VDH, AR and Belden.
I know Navin loves Belden cable. I'm a big VDH fan myself. Lakozy used to sell VDH, but doesn't anymore, due to some problem with the distributor.

Thanks where can I buy Belden,VDH or AR wires from.Any idea of approx prices.

Also is the pricing for the rest of the stuff OK.

Man I got a roll of acoustic research pro II series It a 16 gauge wire. Good stuff. It costed me 3200 for 100 ft. I got it from jbl at Gk. He had VDL also from my personal opinon it was bit expensive for a speaker wire.

Belden is excellent wire for the money. It is not the best but for the price it is very good but most of what i get runs 480-500 per meter. Supra I have not heard but am told it is good VFM at rs. 125/meter.

belden models to get.
RCA: 8R28064 for most use and 5T00UP for sub amp
and 9717 and 9718 for the speaker cable.

I am bumping up this 3 years old thread because I have a similar question.

What are the common HT speaker wire makes with decent performance and available in most electonics shops in India?

I can't try for the best brand of cable because I don't live near any cities. My house in under renovation, the painter is waiting to start his work, but I need to finish the cabling first. So, I don't have much time on hand.

Tomorrow I am planning to visit Udupi (nearest big town) in search of speaker wire, it would be helpful if I know some decent speaker wire brand names in advance.

if you want budget wires for home audio one name MX they make some very good quality cables and connectors.

Thanks Karan, I'll look up MX. My budget is 15K for 200ft of speaker wire, that should give a good idea.

i have no idea about the rates but 15k is a good budget for speaker cable,and you require 200ft >60mt which comes to 250/= per meter.
why don't you but some good car audio cable size 12/14 gauge.

The newton series from Cambridge Soundworks, it is a 5 year old 7.1 HTS. Since I never visit ICE section, I don't know any good audio cable either.
