Default 1 GB xD card

i have bought a 6MP olympus UZ 500 camera. alongwith it i bought a 1GB xD card. ny idea how much time it will take to download 1GB data on the computer?

tried searching on the net but no luck.

do u want to say how much time it would take to transfer pics taken from ur cam to computer than it depends upon the resolution you use if its a heavy pic than 1 pic would take around 15- 20 seconds....
I wonder why u been searching for this on net?????

The main thing here is the speed of the xd card you have bought. Otherwise it depends on how you are transferring the pics to your computer.

1. using data-cable is the slower. May take anything from 35-60 mins
2. Using card reader. Still goes through USB port. USB2.0 can trasfer around 20-40 mins while USB1.0 can go from 35-60.
3. using integrated card reader on the pc is the fastest.

I use a 2gig sd card @60x and it takes anything from 15-35 mins to transfer around 800mb-1.5 gig of data.

Data transfer speed for XD card is 3 to 5 Mbytes/sec. Check your card's speed and calculate the timings (1 GB = 1024MB). Also check the speed supported by your reader. If the reader is slower than your card speed it will be the speed to be considered.
