AFAIK, except Top Sites (which is again far more beautiful & functional than Speed Dial ), none of them are inspired from Opera.

Also pardon my ignorance on Opera (for any other browser, in fact); the moment I started using Safari, there is no turning back.

Thanks ...but wait! Doesn't this load IE in an FF tab?

I'm using Ubuntu ... No IE.

We moved the washing machine to make a new, secure, smooth and level base for it. After putting it back, on the first load, it just sat there flashing IE at me. My first thought? "Internet Explorer? It's a Washing Machine!"

Then I realised I'd forgotten to attach the water hose. Input Error, I suppose.

Strange. I can access Axis bank netbanking account on FF on Ubuntu. I'm on 11.04 with FF 6 beta.

Goodness, I'm still on FF3!

Anyway, your experience points to it being something specific to me and my system.

Thanks

And that was barely four months ago. Now am on FF7, and still behind the times.

Mozilla doesn't do software any longer: it just does numbers. And with each new number comes re-installing all the add-ins, always assuming they still work, which they probably don't. It has become a joke, and a bad one too.

I'm still here, I'm not jumping the FF ship yet. I've turned off updates, though (Ubuntu Linux: locked the versions in Synaptic). I'm fed up with the Mozilla numbers game.

Chrome it was when I was on windows and Chrome still rules even though I bit into the apple. It has a clean look and does not bother you with unnecessary distractions which are there in IE and FF, I love it for its simplicity and ease of use. Safari that came along with the Mac OSX also sucks compared to Chrome, though I do find it better than FF & IE.

What distractions are you talking about? This is how my FF looks like -

Chrome is the quickest on the lot. Used every other browser possible, but have to say chrome is fast! I dont like safari at all, it takes ages to load using chrome on my macs!

I use FF 8 with Adblock Plus, DownThemAll and Tiny URL addons. Works best for me. Opening up any other browsers expose me to the dirty world of banner ads and slow downloads.

Guys, having a problem with my IE. It is slow, and some irritating behaviour I notice:

1. Cant type fast - it gobbles up letters. Or even keys like "Enter"
2. Page up / page down doesnt work sometimes. Have to click on the scroll bar at the right.

3. When using FB, it's worst - I can not even copy-paste there. After I eventually paste the text, I cant use the enter button (easily)

Any ideas - Other than suggesting FF etc ?

I am using IE 8, with latest patches
Problem started initially with FB. Now even TBHP.
Laptop has been re-formatted. So I dont think it's a problem with cookies /temp files.
But things just got worse after the re-format.

Try un-installing/disabling the unnecessary add-ons from Tools--> Manage Addons menu.

Hey, I feel its got to do more with something wrong with windows rather than IE.
Have you installed your graphics drivers ?
Also, there might be keyboard and mouse drivers which need an update
