I had used PC Cillin 2006 internet security before.....its fast, easy UI and had a firewall...but it never detected a virus!!!!....
and now I use Avast! and when I scanned I got as much as 9 virus instances.....
so in my suggestion......never waste your hard disk space for pc cillin...use Avast! free edition....its coool....

IE has a built-in pop-up blocker which works decently.
try this, goto: Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Sites.

there you can enter urls which you want to always Allow or Block.

also, make sure the Block pop-ups tab is checked. this'll help a bit.

For those of you that use WiFi I would recommend AirDefense Personal to protect you from wireless attacks.

I have the ZoneAlarm Security Suite 6. Looks a little less powerful than norton i agree. But it has a great firewall + a decent spyware inbuilt.

And as for my take on it, then I luv it absolutely, serves me well, no viruses in 2 years. doesnt expire, good firewall. small footprint, about 10mb usage of ram and definitely helps speed up bootups by 6-7 seconds.

TRY IT

Is there any site out there that compares the best anti-virus softwares? Need to decide on which one to get for the office.

Currently using Norton 10, but not too happy with it. Its also essential that the I get one with a real time spyware/adware blocker.
