Yes, the sound of the keys is one of the main reasons why people actually go for a mechanical keyboard!

That noise is called "audio feedback", extremely useful when touch typing, as you will subconsciously know whether you have pressed the key or not.

Hi friends,

Last time I had assembled a system with your help, about 1 year ago, gigabyte ma785 us2h mobo and amd x2 240 processor.

My friend asked me to assemble a system for him now. Since I am not in this field, can you suggest me a mobo and processor. The system will be used for normal home use and a little bit of gaming.

I would like to go with gigabyte and AMD. Have a budget of 10 K for mobo, processor and memory.

Do all mobos now a days come with DDR3 and USB 3.0

Thanks for all your help.

My motherboard supports USB 3.0 and the cabinet also has vacant USB 3.0 slots. How can I connect the USB 3.0 slot in the motherboard to the cabinet?

Just a small update. After much consideration and analysis, we narrowed it down to RDX Quikstor By Tandberg. Its a removable disk based storage system. It supports SATA and USB 3.0. Will make for good off site storage since we can take cartridges home.

RDX QuikStor - Tandberg Data Americas

We considered Dell's RD1000 too which is similar but it is running USB 2.0 while Tandberg has 3.0. Default storage is 320gb too in Tandberg and price is the same. Moreover, we have tandberg's storage in other offices too and have its system too. So integration will be flawless.

Thought to share which may help others. Thank you for all the opinions.

@Chipz

You can get an Intel Core i3 processor for the system. It is great for an entry-level desktop and offers a bang for the buck.

DDR3 is pretty common, but USB 3.0 is not. You'll have to look at the spec sheet of the motherboard you're getting to check for USB 3.0.

@PatienceWins

You will tpically find a set of pins marked for USB. You can run a cable from the motherboard to the case to get the ports working. BTW, why do you have unconnected ports? Did you assemble the computer yourself?

I got it assembled from the computer shop. All the usb 2.0 ports are working. As per the motherboard manual, it supports USB 3.0, but the cabinet has USB 3 ports only in the front. I will get the cable from the computer shop. Thanks

Upgraded my PC recently. 4 main changes. Added an SSD (Corsair 120 GB) and migrated my Win7 OS to it, replaced my 1TB HDD with a 2TB HDD, installed another 2 GB RAM to make it 8GB and added a Sapphire Radeon 6770 Graphics Card. Installing SSD had the biggest difference with boot up times less than 20 seconds from switch on! Highly recommended. My WEI score is now 7.2. See the video below of a computer shutting down and booting up with Corsair 120 GB SSD. I have the same model.
