Perhaps. Yet, every game works on it flawlessly. 3D is brilliant. And satisfies every criteria of mine.

Here's my maxim: a new model may be better, but the old model is still as good as it ever was.

I need some help.

At home I have an Apple iMac and a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga. Neither of them have an optical drive. So far I have been using my office laptop to read any optical disks but the laptop will be gone in a week for reasons several.

So I need to purchase an optical drive immediately. Tried Amazon.in as well as Flipkart. But I found no USB 3.0 optical drives there. I live in Hyderabad and can drive to Chenoy Trade Center Secunderabad if required.

Can someone please suggest any good USB 3.0 external optical drive, which is available in India?

Thanks

http://www.flipkart.com/indiashopers...me4hzs2qwyhuua

In case you don't get a DVD drive in local market, buy this cable for ~300 Rs. With this you can attache any DVD drive to USB.

Need suggestions for an All-in-One Desktop computer.

I need it for personal use and am not at all into computer gaming. However, specs should be relevant for at least 3 years as its when I think of replacing them. I am way too confused with the current offering in the market.

Any suggestions help would be appreciated.

Branded ones? Or assembled?
I actually liked the convenient option of having something like this:
http://www.amazon.in/Lenovo-57-32592...ywords=desktop
http://www.amazon.in/Asus-ET2040IUK-...ywords=desktop
http://www.amazon.in/HP-All--20-2110...ywords=desktop

The monitor comes with motherboard and hard disk - so no separate boxes for these.

PS: Oops, I think you were anyway talking about these "all in ones"

I am pretty much a windows guy in desktops so Mac isn't an option.

I am looking for an All-in-Ones more in the range of 40 to 50k range.

Thanks for your inputs though.

Smallish question.

Had 4 gigs of RAM and upgrade to 8 now. But still system doesn't show much improvement - as in, apps still take time to load, system still loads in the same speeds. Anything that can be done to improve it?

Running Windblows 7 Ultimate.

Increased RAM since games were a little sluggish but it has been the same.

Extra RAM will only help during an application's running. It has nothing to do with loading the program, unless the application does a lot of house keeping after loading.

Application loading time depends on disk speeds. If you want lightning fast load, then get an SSD.

Check why computer is slow with Resource Monitor ( resmon.exe ). Useful article : http://www.7tutorials.com/how-use-re...itor-windows-7

Some common reasons:

1. Check if disk it the cause of bottleneck (is it pegged at near 100%)
2. Check if fan / vents are clogged and CPU is getting throttled due to heat
3. Check if power management policy is throttling CPU

Need some advice. Looking out for a replacement for laptop used at home. Will be basically used by my son for his school projects, gaming and viewing football clips, the football freak that he is. Will also be used occasional by my wife for browsing and other accounting work. Had a look at the IMac and MacBook, but unable decide whether I should go for the Mac of look for something else. Thanks for any inputs.

@Vishyvish, do you have or plan to get other Apple devices - IPads, MacBooks etc.? If yes, then it would make sense to go for an iMac or MacBooks to create the Apple ecosystem. If the machine is solely going to be used for Multimedia purposes, I would go for a desktop (iMac or others) with a dedicated graphics card. Laptops do offer you portability but I find it difficult to play games (my personal opinion).
