Default SMS to be transferred from Nokia 1110 to E50 PLEASE HELP!

Guys, just bought an E50 to replace the 1110 and now face the problem of transferring my SMS's to the E50. Since the 1110 does not have a copy-to-sim option & neither does it have cable connectivity or bluettoth/IR, how do I go about it??

My primary phonebook is in my 6681 so no problems there since I'll synchronise both with my Outlook but this SMS thing has me a little worried.

Thinking aloud -
Insert a different SIM in the E50.
Send the SMS's from the 1110 to the number in the E50.
Save the SMS's from the SIM in the E50 to the phone memory (is that possible ?)

Yes that's an option but we are talking of transferring 70-odd SMS's here. Think of the inconvienience & expense involved.

i dont think you have a convenient & no expense way to get around your problem. you gotto forward all your sms to the new phone.

p.s. O.T. but why do you want to keep 70 SMSs ??

70 sms expenses can be taken down. I have a SMS pack enabled 2000 SMS per month free for rs 50 + extra local msgs costs me only 10 paise. Regarding incovienience give it to sm1 to loves to play with mobile and loves sending msgs hehe.

Ishan...one of the features listed for 1110 is

Support up to 60 text messages on SIM card

So I don't know why there is no option for you to copy from Phone memory to SIM...

I dont think you have any other option than to go for an additional sim and literally forward the messages to the new phone.

Other option will be if you have a 64k sim, I have read that it will support up to 12 messages at one time. You have to transfer the messages to the sim and then to the e50.

By the way nice choice of phone..

Don't know gr8molestor but there are no options of transferring the messages to the SIM card.

I already have two sims so probably will send out the messages to my other phone tomorrow but it's going to be real cumbersome!

And thanks for the suggestions guys. And Sun thank you I'm really liking the phone!

Since both are Series 60 platform, it wont be a problem. Just install Oxygen phone manager for Symbian OS and download all SMS, Contacts, Calender etc to the PC and then sync with your new phone. Oxygen even syncs your contact photographs.

Yeah because you have the same operating system so transfer of data is no issue. The real problem is when you have two phones of different operating systems (like me) and need to trnasfer data.

Definitely no probs...with Oxygen phone manager for Symbian OS you can be sure of that. Its a good software, must be available with most service centers... I will suggest even buying it as it will be useful in day to day backup, update etc.
